Apparently a long time ago, the song called for “colly birds” which was just another name for blackbirds. And those we have a plenty around here so I think we are all good. I guess my true love can somehow manage to gnab me 4 blackbirds and add them to the Christmas piles.

KIT FOR THE DAY: SUPER SIMPLE LAYER CAKE PATCHWORK: SWELL

Sometimes you fall in love with a collection and all you want to do is sew up something quick and fun that you can use or gift immediately. Well this is for you. We are totally in love with the retro feel of this collection and think it would be a perfect way to add some instant retro Christmas feel to your home. This super simple project includes a Layer Cake for the patches, a sold color for the posts and inner border and then a coordinating print for the outer border. You can choose if you want to go super simple and just sew the Layer Cakes together for the center, or if you want to add a little bit extra with some sashing and/or posts. Kit contains: 1 Layer Cake, optional sashing and post fabric, inner and outer border as well as binding. Kit also includes pattern sheets for all three of the versions shown. Any of the 3 versions can be whipped up over the weekend…. we promise! Sizes of the quilt are 56″ x 66, 60″ x 71″ and 63″ x 74″ respectively.
