We were so inspired by the LAKESIDE FLANNELS bundles that we curated from my friend Lisa’s newest flannel collection, Lakeside Flannels, that we decided to whip up some CATALINA STARS goodness with one of them. One bundle makes the full quilt!
My friend Jeannie sewed this together in 2 days and she said it came together like a dream.
If you grabbed one of the flannel bundles when we had them, this is how that specific bundle will break down below. If you are working with your own set of flannels, follow our break down in terms of darker and lighter fabrics for a good balance. Any coordinated color grouping would look wonderful I think.

Use the mockup photo above for border pieces and placement. I adjusted the CATALINA STARS pattern a tiny bit in that I pieced the top & bottom borders to match the scrappy feel of the left sides as shown in the pattern. This will make more sense once you are looking at the pattern itself.
All you need to make this is a (9) ½ yds flannels and the CATALINA STARS pattern [PDF or PAPER] to make one of these lovely little wintery throws yourself. Pattern is $6 for another week so grab one now!
I am back today for another CROSS STITCH PATTERN SHOWCASE. This series has been so…

Wow I love this! I did score one of the bundles and just now purchased the pattern. Question, should I prewash or use the spray starch technique to shrink the fabric?

Personally I do not pre wash or pre shrink any of my fabrics. Adding a bit of spray starch might be nice to stabilize but these flannels are printed and quite sturdy without anything additional.
