Pattern Showcase #5

I'm sure you have heard me talk about my love of Christmas quilts over the years and this is the latest in the series of those classic red, green and cream lovelies that I will happily add to my stack of holiday quilts when we decorate our home next week. Now I know that it doesn't have to be for Christmas only, this combination is a timeless classic all year around but somehow it is just a bit more perfect this time of the year for me. … we sure had fun cutting kits in this wonderful little color combo for our recent sale. If you aren't on our newsletter list, be sure to get on it before our next holiday sale email at the end of this week! Go here to be added to our newsletter.   So here is Petite Fours [&quot…

Fall Around Here

Given everything that goes down around here in October, there is no giant efforts at elaborate decorating [until Christmas that is]! And yet, this is my favorite time of year. And I can't resist those little pumpkins. Everywhere. Just thought I'd share a few shots I took around my house this morning. After all, it doesn't have to be elaborate or expensive to make it feel like autumn. Right? Those little pumpkins. They make me happy. Hope you are having fun with a little fall decorating of your own…   Talk to you soon…

Its all about the Pumpkin around here…

Many of you inquired and asked about those kits we mentioned in the last post so I thought I would send out some quick info on a few of our fun Halloween products…. Of course you probably remember our Sugar Pumpkin pattern. How could you not? It was splashed all over a full page ad in a Holiday Betters Homes Publication last year… along with a certain someone's somewhat sheepish face behind it. At least the face part was blurry! We have kits for it. They are $23 with the pattern [shipping included].   Next up, the new All Hallow's Eve Wall Hanging from Fresh Vintage #17 mentioned last week. We have limited kits for it. They are $32 with the pattern [shipping included].  From some of our older paper patterns before we went to our new full color pattern layout, we…

Fresh Vintage is here again!

I'm popping out of my little hole [sounds kinda like GroundHog day, doesn't it?] to let you know that our latest Fresh Vintage issue has started to ship out! Finally. Its a great issue chalk full of fun stuff. All auto shipments have gone out already [along with your free pattern!] so expect yours anytime.  The main project is such a great, simple quilt and although I know my friend Camille makes fun of me every time I say that something is simple, this really is! All you need is 2 charm packs of your favorite collection [hint, hint: Breakfast at Tiffany's has just hit the stores and is available everywhere right not!], some cream background and an alternate fabric…. That's it! Now how can you go wrong I ask you?   October Ties And if…

Summer: A bit earlier

Before the more grown up adventures started around here, we had adventures of a different variety. The munchkin kind, munchkins of all ages had games, tournaments, graduations and more games! I think we had at least one baseball or graduation activity a night. In summary… We played ALOT of this….  ALOT.        We won a couple of these. One in specific will go down in our family history as our first championship win!   The championship led to a seat on the All Star game with best friends from school. Life is good. Sometimes we got tired. T-ball can be tiring business after all. Meanwhile the eldest graduated from elementary school. Jr. High this fall. He's ready. His mama is not. Can you just feel the jr. high attitude in this shot? I don't even want to think of…

Paris: just the beginning

One of my favorite things about being a blogger is that if I go MIA like I have a bit recently, you will not hesitate to come find me! Even if my hub finds it a bit funny to feel this attached to a stranger, thank you to all of you who emailed and even called our office recently to find out if everything was okay and that I was fine. I am here to announce that I am just fine, hunky dory in fact and I have just been taking a little bloggy break mostly because I have been abroad, on vacation or on business trips. Oh and there is that whole summer thing happening around here that is making it kind of hard to get to the computer…. just saying. I want you to know that I am back at it, back in the swing of things…

Happy Easter to All

I could have loaded in about a hundred of these vintage images but I thought that perhaps your fingers might get tired of scrolling. There is just something that makes me smile about these vintage Easter postcards every time. The illustrations, the humor, the creaivity… I wonder why we don't work like this today?      Every single one of them inspires me to go and sew and to design. Not sure I will get a chance to do that in the midst of tomorrow's festivities. But… I will definitely eat eggs.  Have an egg hunt.  Dress kids in their finest.  Go to church.  Have ham… or rather in our Polish tradition, have a delicious pork loin.  Reflect on why we celebrate Easter & be very grateful for my life. Sneak chocolate eggs. Even though I…
