Halloween Spools

Today we wanted to show you what we are working on at the moment and for our upcoming retail show in October [coming up way too soon!]. We have used one of our brand new patterns [for release in Houston at the end of October] and transformed it into a quick and simple Halloween quilt that we think you might just love as much as we do. The new pattern is called "Spools Quartet" and this version is "Halloween Spools" and it is made with 12 different warm blacks, soft greys and our signature butterscotch oranges. It is the kind of quilt that comes together in a weekend with simple cutting and construction. Whip one out this week just in time to display for Halloween… really and truly! These blocks are crazy simple with no triangles, using the square, sew and flip method that most…

We are back from our teaching adventures in Spain and will have some fun photos to share from the trip soon! Let the Patterns Begin!

Hopefully you have already gotten a glimpse of our new CHERRY PIE pattern, here. I am in love with that one at the moment, although the others that I am about to start showing you are not far behind.  In fact, this might be one of my all time favorite jelly roll patterns we have done. It is so simple and graphic and yet so much fun to make and it showcases the fabric perfectly! Introducing CLOVERS & JAM [since Clovers and Jelly just didn't sound quite right LOL!] … styled version of the HONEYSWEET version. Perfect for a quick fall project this upcoming September!   … detail of the block and the quilting.   … flat shot of the full quilt.   And since we always like to make up the new patterns in both the upcoming collection that we are debuting [HONEYSWEET in this case…

Getting Ready…

As usual, the week before Market is a flurry and frenzy of activity around here. No matter how much earlier we think we will be ready, there is always stuff to do at the end that can only be done… well, at the end! We have been showing lots of little sneak peaks on facebook over the last couple of weeks so if you havnen't visited or "liked us" there yet, you might want to head on over and check it out! We have 9 new patterns to debut in Portland at Quilt Market next week and we are hoping to have them all done and off to print before we leave. Several of them are already done and waiting to be stuffed into baggies as we speak! Yeah for having some things done early this time around!! The first pattern we let you peek…

On the 11th Day of Christmas

On the  11th Day of Christmas my true love gave to me, eleven Pipers Piping. Again, I have to admit that the image of an entourage comes to mind but I don't want to repeat myself. Can you imagine the entrance one would make with eleven Pipers Piping? I am slowly running out of ways to reject this poor man's gifts. Perhaps eleven Pipers Piping isn't so bad…. But perhaps a little bit better, or at least a little bit cuter would be this super sweet flour sack tea towel with our latest critter on it. Please meet Hazel, the Hedgehog and the HAZEL FLOUR SACK TOWEL KIT. Not sure you all want a hedgehog story but here's one anyway. When my husband and I were first married, we collected hedgehogs of every kind and size imaginable- cards…

On the 10th Day of Christmas

On the  10th Day of Christmas my true love gave to me, ten Lords a Leaping. Now unlike nine Ladies Dancing, I could really come up with some good ideas for what ten Lords a Leaping might do around here! Just kidding! But seriously, could you imagine what I could get done around here with Ten Lords a Leaping? They could accomplish a whole lot as far as I'm concerned, leaping might even help! On perhaps a more practical note, I know that many of you have been patiently waiting for us to introduce our AVALON PRE-ORDER KITS. We did intend to have them be the very last day of our 12 DAYS SALE, but our own ordering schedule got bumped up a bit more than expected so here they are today. Now, remember, the beauty of a PRE-ORDER is that today you…

On the 9th Day of Christmas

On the  9th Day of Christmas my true love gave to me, nine Ladies Dancing. I've always wanted an entourage, one that didn't involve my children or pets so perhaps nine Ladies Dancing would do it. I wonder what the neighbors would think if everywhere I went, there were nine Ladies Dancing around me? It might make going to the store a bit difficult but it sure woiuld be entertaining to walk down to our local coffee shop. Can you imagine the entrance we'd make?  But since we didn't have nearly enough dancing ladies around here to share with you all, we thought we'd share our popular MILKY WAY: CHRISTMAS STARS kit. We offered this one in our red and taupe version at a recent show and many of our customers asked if…

On the 7th Day of Christmas

On the  7th Day of Christmas my true love gave to me, seven Swans a Swimming . Now swans are beatiful creatures but we don't have a pond. And if the hub is not up for a chicken coop, i don't suppose he would be up for builidng me a pond.  So I guess I will have to trade in the swans as well. I  guess I am turning out to be a bit of a bad gift receiver! Instead we thought we might kit up a few of our newest THREAD PATTERNS. First up, our LE RADISH PATTERN KIT. Each kit has enough fabric, ribbon, wire and wool to make 1 large radish and enough fabric to make a coordinating smaller radish. A fun project to make for some pincushions or for a little table decor!     Next up, the TOOTSIE…
