Pattern Showcase #3

You know how we are about our projects…. we love those quilts nice and big and our mini patterns, nice and little. Its a perfect combination in the studio. If we get tired of piecing, we move on to our little mini projects for a totally different pace and then back again. It really is a good way to go, especially if, like me, you enjoy the satisfaction of getting something little done in the midst of a larger project.   So along those lines, introducing  A PEAR IN A TREE. Do you get it? As opposed to A Partridge in a Pear Tree? Yah, well, my husband didn't get it either but I entertained myself!   … perfect to make with one of those yummy little MODA CANDY packs or any of your favorite little piles of scraps. These make perfect ornaments or decorations of…

Pattern Showcase #2

Whereas Lollipops might have been my favorite yesterday… and maybe for another 2 weeks or so… the moment that I start to decorate for winter, this will surely be my absolute FAVORITE, as fickle as I am :-)! Introducing…. MILKY WAY. This classic star pattern was our answer to a twinkling night sky or one exploding with fireworks. We loved the idea of creating different size stars of the exact same blocks, simply by using different sizes of strips with which to make them. The result is a sparkling quilt full of movement while it is actually a basic, straight forward block set in a giant nine-patch. We love how it turned out!!   This is the TAPESTRY version…   … by choosing the taupes and reds with a background of several different cream prints, the pattern feels even more classic and timeless. … those nice…

Showcase #1: Lollipops

Some of our newest projects that went on to Market for us this year.   So I promised some sneak peeks this weekend just so we could all pretend that we are at Market sending you debuts and new pattern showcases. I know its not the same but what's a girl to do! Wow, I could get used to this "market from the couch with a diet coke" approach!  So come and pretend a bit with me!  Instead of a booth to share, we'll show off some of our brand new goodies…   Each time I share a new pattern release, I  tell you that I have a favorite and even though I am not supposed to [its kind of like having a favorite amongst your children, I mean come on!]. There is usually something about…

Introducing…..

Well…. I bet you think I am writing from Houston right about now but I'm not this year. I kinda wish I was right about now as I am thinking of all my friends and colleagues in their grubbies setting up thier booths, living on trail mix & Monster drinks, working like dogs, not getting a lunch break, running around trying to organize last minute details, worrying about product launches…. oh wait, I am not missing any of that LOL!   What I am missing, is catching up with some of my closest designer friends, seeing what wonderful new collections and designs my colleagues have dreamt up, hanging out with our wonderful MODA team and getting to say hi to some of our favorite customers! I do really miss being in the midst of it all!   Instead this year we are at home, watching Market…

They’re Heeeeeere!

I know our new pattern release has been unusually delayed given everything going on with my dad and I would like to thank all of you who have been waiting so patiently! Thank you again from the bottom of my heart! The 5 new quilt patterns are here and have started shipping to stores and distributors as of yesterday! Yeah!! They are also now available on our website as of late last night! Yeah again!! Look under NEWEST DESIGNS for all 8 of the new patterns!   LIBERTY BOY: Perfect for today but you can work on it for Labor Day or next year just as well!   CINDERELLA PUMPKINS: Easily my favorite time of year and its never too early to start on a fall project.   MARIGOLDS: A wonderful way to use up a couple charm packs of your favorite collection. Love, love the feel of circles with…

More Market… can you stand it?

I know, I know. It is a bit silly showing Market photos this late in the game. But maybe you have actually managed to start missing some Market posts at this point… maybe?   MORE BOOK PROJECTS IN THE BOOTH … the Summer Soiree quilt. Mixing some of my favorite Fig Tree fabrics with Amy Butler and Kaffe Fassett and other more contemporary designers was so much fun. Always happy to show people that our Fig Tree colors and contemporary colors go so well together!   … more book projects in the foreground.     … the slipper pattern from the book. Comes in every conceivable children's and women's sizes!    NEW PATTERN: MARIGOLDS   … both Marigolds and Sparkle.   NEW PATTERN: SPARKLE … pattern is done in a cream colorway, a plum colorway and even as a single table topper to show…

From Market…

I am sure that some of you remember that I promised booth shots yesterday. But then again I am sure that some others of you remember that I sometimes promise things and can't manage to get them here in time LOL! Well, today my day aligned and I found a moment to upload a whole LOT of Market pictures… way more than I would guess most of you would ever want to se!. But here are some of my favorites and I promise that tomorrow I will show some more…. promises, promises!   A FEW FAVORITE CLOSEUPS FROM MARKET… … a bowl full of candy goodness. These new mini swatches are called MODA CANDIES and they are good enough to eat. We will have plenty of them available for your snacking pleasure in the fall!   … simple little pins from the new book, WITH…

To Market, to Market to Make a Silly Video

I know we all say this when we hear our own voices… but I guess I will be unoriginal and say it all again…. Do I really sound like that? And is it THAT uncomfortable for everyone who sees themselves on video or is it just me? I mean, you would think that I would have gotten used to it all, with lovely Gene chasing after us with that blasted video camera year after year, Market after Market… but I don't! Every time I see a new video, I have to shut it off or at least I have to leave the room so that others can watch it. Just an odd experience that I can't seem to get used to…oh well. But, anyway, in the absence of having edited any of my Market photos [hope to start having those for…
