Monday, monday….

Happy Monday everyone! Although I realize that for all those of you who subscribe, you might not be reading this till Tuesday but just know that I had Monday on the brain when I posted this.  Its one of those Monday mornings where I have so much swirling around in my tired little brain that I'm having a hard time focusing on anything. I guess that is what Mondays are supposed to be like anyway. Since I wasn't accomplishing anything work related this morning I actually sat outside on my porch, got the munchkins off to school….   … in case you were wondering what on earth, its CRAZY HAIR day at school today!   And just sat there afterwards. Just sat. Waited for the hub to bring home the most wonderful chocolate croissants west of Paris, looked at what was blooming in my…

From Market, from Market

You know, as opposed to "To Market, to Market…" 🙂 You gotta cut me some slack as I am just a bit slap happy today! So glad to be home after our trip to Salt Lake City and then New York, more on that later. But for now, I thought I would start to share some of the pics of my booth. Starting with a bundle of the new collection, Butterscotch & Rose. It is a warmer, fall line inspired by a trip to Sonoma Valley in the wine country. Its a bit more of a traditional line with a good mix of florals, little prints and my favorite geranium print that I can't wait to use on something for our home. Don't know what yet! I'll let you know as soon as I figure it out. Our booth theme was Country…

I want to live inside my camera bag. Seriously.

Yes, you read that right. I want to live inside my camera bag right now. I'm in love. If you can be in love with a camera bag that is. It came in the mail today and I knew right away what it was! My kids thought I had lost my marbles just a little when I yelled "get out of my way unless you know where the scissors are!" Of course, the weeks leading up to Market, they pretty much assume that I have already lost my mind, so I guess, if I think about it a bit more, they might not even have noticed my odd behavior! I have to tell you that one of my very favorite things about working in the industry that I do is the people I have met along the way and those that I would now call friends…

“Kiss Me”

I am quite certain that I have said this before and I will surely say it again, but almost every time we release a new set of patterns, I have a favorite. I feel like I shouldn't have one, but I do. Almost from the instant we start sewing the blocks together or the pieces get cut out for the bag, I just know. This will be my favorite this time around. A lot of the times its about the color choices in a particular project but sometimes its about the design or the way that I am feeling when I design it. This was one of those quilts. From the moment I started playing with those reds and greys, and hints of yellow, green and pink in the florals, somehow I knew it would be one of my all-time favorites. And it is. So far. &#0160…

Spring & some “Chintz”

I had a chance to go visit my parents in Southern California for a day last week and I was again reminded about the difference in seasons between Northern and Southern California. Its like a different world down there! They have an amazing home and garden and their vegetable beds were already overflowing! I had serious garden envy. Thinking of flying my dad up here just so he can help me garden for the weekend! I might just do it too! Although the kids would probably steel him go play miniature golf and take them to movies and I would be gardening by myself. Oh, well, so much for that plan…. Maybe I'll fly him up anyway! … I guess these self seeded from last year! … he seemed to have every kind of little green imaginable. … we clipped and clipped and clipped.   … and…

Sneak Peek #2

OUR NEXT SNEAK PEEK Another one of our "mini" patterns or "Threads" as we refer to them was inspired by a flea market pin that we found a while back. It felt timeless to us then and seemed to beg to be updated with some fresh fabrics. So we listened to her. … 2 sizes, this one is the multi version on a standard white shirt, made with 11 charm squares. I  love it on a white or cream shirt, although my daughter keeps swiping it for her hair or her backpack! … both versions on my favorite leather purse. Works great as a purse accessory on pretty much any style. … all 3 versions accessorizing a fabric purse. This is the cover image of the pattern as well. … this might just be my favorite one right now. I have been wearing it on…

Some Strawberry Peeks…

As a mom of 2 older boys and a little girl, many of the "girl" things out there are a bit unknown to me. My daughter was just as likely to play with a Power Ranger as she was a doll when she was a toddler. As she grows up, however, we quickly become familiar with all of those little girl milestones. This year we have joined the ranks of the Girl Scouts and are looking forward to joining the infamous cookie sales that I'm sure we are all aware of! In fact my husband keeps suggesting that we should sell them on our website LOL!! Recently we have been working on some sewing activities with our little "Daisies" and it came to my attention that apparently one of the classic Girl Scout sewing projects is to make little newspaper stuffed "Sit Upons…
