Happy Sunday!

Traditionally during this crazy 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS SALE, the elves take Sunday off to sleep… and maybe have a bit too much nog :-)! We will be back on Monday morning with new goodies, we promise!   A couple questions that we would like to answer again: Question #1: Each day the items will go up at an undisclosed time in the morning or late night Pacific Standard Time. Many times I will give you guys a heads up the night before on the blog so pay attention to the end of each post. Question #2: Each day, most of the items will sell out. If you can still see them the next day, that means that we had a lot of stock of that item and it lasted till the next day. Feel free to add those into your box anytime while they are still available. Question #3…

ON THE SECOND DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME… TWO PURPLE GLOVES [I know, I know, purple is not really my thing but no other color rhymes with turtle!:-)] AND A CHICKEN…

Off to College!

EDIT: The initial college patchwork kits and the next round of kits have now sold out. We will offer the pattern sheets as a PDF within the week. I can't really focus on this newest transition in our lives for very long without getting completely overwhelmed with a million different emotions and things to say so I am just going to focus on the quilt itself instead! Usually I have a lot to say about everything but this one is getting me… My oldest son is off to college this weekend and at the very last minute he asked me for a simple masculine feeling "college guy" throw for his bed. He is not much of a design guy and didn't want anything with an actual pattern in it so I decided on a super simple patchwork style quilt. My friends…

I am a BAG LADY

If you are looking for the SPLENDID SAMPLER POST, just scroll down one post below.  Hello Friends! It is quite possible that you can relate to this… but I think I have a bag problem. A big one.     I know that many women have a thing for shoes and I know that we all have a thing for fabric… but bags might just be my downfall.     Let's just say that I definitely have more of them than I need and I feel the need to make more, way more frequently than I should.     I think that might qualify me as having a bag problem… or definitely being a bag lady.   … bags featured include the following: Everyday Zips, Bella Bag, Feedsack Bags, Strawberry Zips, Peggy Sue, Kimberly's Sac, Sweet Berry Bag, One Piece Bag, Schoolday Satchel and…

RETRO FARMHOUSE WOOL BOM UPDATES

Hello Friends! It's been a while since we had a chance to update here on the blog so get ready for a bit of information. As promised, monthly updates are always happening on Instagram, Facebook and even Twitter. Not only that, but you can follow along and be inspired by others working on the same blocks so if you don't already follow us there, you might want to consider it? All of our BOM programs will always be updated there much more regularly than here. We have been enjoying designing different blocks in a variety of styles, from very traditional to a few more free form. Once it is time to lay out the blocks, we will definitely balance the blocks out so that they look wonderful together! We can't wait to get to that part and to start working a bit more…

SHerbet & Creams Quilt Along #4

The next step on our quilt along adventure is fairly straightforward…. divide your pumpkin seeds into grouping of 4 that you like and add them to the background 4-patches as shown. Remember that the ends don't matter so don't worry about them.   I recommend laying all of your groupings of 4 so that you don't end up with a block of all one color! Once you have made all the groupings of 4 and you like all the combos, simply machine stitch those pumpkin seeds down.  Creating your final layout [in terms of pumpkin seed blocks] at this time is also a good idea. That way you can balance out your stronger colors like the caramel and the red, though out the entire patchwork to make sure that you don't end up with a bunch of blocks that are…
