A Little Family Adventure

Day #1 of our trip….. London!   No pictures yet… beautiful weather… will post when I have a better connection&#8230…

A bit more Market…

Well… here are a few more shots of the booth from Market and look someone actually managed to get me in the shot… that's a rarity! I have a few more to share after this with a couple more great MODA booth shots but with all that has been going on around here… Well lets just recap: We are still trying to tie up Market orders as they have been pleasantly overwhelming; Fresh Vintage auto ships are almost all out; working on tieing up our next collection; designing patterns to go with it; we're trying to work out the kinks in a couple of website updates we are doing; I'm training a few new people this week; our entire network and phone system crashed a few days ago and we have been building it back up from scratch ever since&#8230…

Return from Quilt Market

Well, another successful  Quilt Market is done and we are finally home and slowly trying to get back in the swing of things. As many of you already know, this year Spring Market was in the beautiful city of Portland, Oregon. A place with great food that we had the chance to partake in [our favorite was Toro Bravo for tapas], a charming river running through the middle of it [that we had the opportunity to take a dinner cruise on with our MODA colleagues] and my favorite bookstore in the whole country. Wow, it doesn't soundl like we did any work at all… but I can assure you that indeed we did and somehow we managed to get in a few of these wonderful moments listed above! In fact between setting up & breaking down, manning the booth, teaching workshops, breakfast meeting, dinner meetings…

Jelly Stars

A new jelly roll pattern…. one of my favorites right now. This one is made with 1 Dandelion Girl roll. At Market we will also have one done from 1 Fig & Plum jelly roll…. who would have ever thought that lone stars could be this simple…. no special cutting, no y-seams…. more peeks tomorrow. talk to you soon…

Happy sneak peeks and Happy Mother’s Day

Well, its the night before Mother’s Day and in order to be able to take the day off and enjoy my family tomorrow, I am working late into the night today to earn that privilege… is there something backwards about that thinking? Who thought of scheduling Spring Quilt Market the weekend after Mother’s Day anyway?? Anyway, I promised some sneak peaks so…. what do you want to see first, patterns or fabrics? Well, I happen to have a nice little page of some of my new swatches so I think we will start there…Fig & Plum… tomorrow, some patterns…. maybe Jelly Stars which so many of you have been asking about… stay tuned and Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms out there! talk to you soon…

Updates…

Its Market production time again… and we all turn into hermits. A few of my fun accessory items that come with Dandelion Girl came last week… I couldn’t resist getting off the computer to go outside with my little “model” and have her display my favorite item… this patchwork backpack. Isn’t she the cutest? Ella of course, but the backpack isn’t bad either. I have a few extra on hand if anyone is interested and I would be happy to order a few more if you all “need” it. Retails for $25. Email me here if you like… Speaking of retail, wanted to let you know that Ihave a few left of everything Dandelion Girl related. All of our kits have gone out, packaged cuts have been sent… and we have a few happy little…

Dandelion Girl is in the house

Well… it looks like DANDELION GIRL has left the building and is arriving in stores all over the country and internationally. Thank you for all your generous emails letting me know that it has arrived and that you’ve gotten yourself some! Our magazine kits have also started to ship & we are so happy that you all are so ecstatic to receive them! Happy Spring! It certainly does feel like we’ve been waiting for this one for a long time… or at least we’ve been talking about it for a long time. I am so glad that it is here for you all to enjoy… Look at some of these little fabric shots that a customer emailed to me…. Now, I do have one tiny piece of advice… if you haven’t already snagged yourelf a Dandelion Girl…

The Quilt Show…the Good Stuff

Well, I’m home and reaclimating to California weather… boy are we spoiled here! Colorado was a whirlwind of beautiful desert views, snowcapped mountains, unbelievable quilting personalities, some wonderful southwest architecture and a lot of nerves. Now of course they asked me before I came on the show, whether or not I had ever been on TV before… NO, I DON’T THINK SO! Oh wait, I like to do a little TV show on the side…. after I’m done with all the other Fig Tree activities I do… and the kids are in bed… NOT! And so of course I was given tips and pointers and shown how to prepare my pieces and how to best demonstrate my technique, etc., etc. and yet when I got there and looked at the set and started to see the studio audience coming…
