2019 Wool BOM project is almost here!

ARE YOU JOINING US THIS YEAR?? We are so very excited about this year’s wool program.. we can hardly contain ourselves. For the last 2 years, we have done a large wool quilt as our mystery wool project and it has been crazy crazy popular with our customers. We have really loved working on each one. Why is it such a favorite you ask? 1- Because the colors of these wools are just too amazing… really… just look at them! Fig Tree colors at their best in the best wool on the market [made for us by Weeks Dye Works]! 2- Because wool is such a fabulous medium to work with if you want to try out a little appliqué… that is because it doesn’t have to be turned under at all. You cut out the shape and stitch it down.  Its amazing…

WHERE WE ANSWER A BUNCH OF QUESTIONS!

Hello My Friends! In an effort to make sure that everyone who does't have a local quilt shop near them that loves Fig Tree as much they do, we offer kits of some of our brand new patterns in the upcoming collection. These will be available for another week or so, so that everyone who wants one can pre-order. After this, they…

Wool Tutorial II

If you are interested in seeing how I prepared the fabric and cut out the wool, etc., go and take a look at the Wool Tutorial I HERE. Okay… so your layout is complete, your pieces are glued down and you are ready to stitch.   THREAD OR FLOSS CHOICE I use matching thread [or at least in the same color family if matching is not possible] but am starting to get more comfortable with floss and I love the detail it adds. … for this project, I am choosing to work with thread for the leaves because there is a lot of stitching and I don't want it to overwhelm the wool and as an accent, I am using coral floss for the blooms. Of course I choose to work with our Farmhouse Aurifil sets, either thread or floss [let us know if you are still wanting to…
