It might take a few seconds for some of the parts of the blog to load since there are so many fun pictures so please be patient! Feel free to tell us if something is not working or missing from your end. If you loaded this last week, you might need to clear your cache and load again. Thanks!

Today I wanted to tell you guys that my friend Pat is doing a fun QUILT ALONG with my Christmas Figs book [available through us, Fat Quarter Shop, Pat and many many other places right now!] and I couldn’t be more happy about that.

Click HERE if you want to know more about the Quilt Along itself!

Got to be the collection of Christmas ornaments. My husband and I get one every year and we started buying our 4 children one each year so they would have a start to a tree. The only problem is, they want me to put up the ornament tree each year so they can reminisce with the whole family after Christmas breakfast! Such good memories!!

MY favorite ornament is a long hair, tabby striped ceramic? or glass? cat head ornament from Hallmark, from back in the 80’s. The ornament looks just like my very first special kitty. His name was Bright Eyes and I every year when I put it on the tree, I remember him.

You love your Vintage quilts and the red and white one comes out every year. I love your ceramic chicken collection! There is a dairy farm directly across the street from me and they have several real ones 🙂 I also collect Christmas ornaments. While I don’t have any mushrooms, I try to pick up an ornament whenever I travel. I call it my crazy tree but what great memories!

Your favorite is mushroom ornaments. My favorite is the churn dash quilt block.

  121. Kathleen | 14th Sep 18

You love vintage quilt block and quilts and so do I. Reading about women from long ago and the history behind each quilt pattern is what first drew me into quilting!

  122. Janet Beyea | 14th Sep 18

Your favorite ornament is a mushroom. Mine is an ornament that my mother bought during WWII. Because metal was saved for the war effort, the Christmas ball has a paper cap.

  126. Bobhi Quinn | 14th Sep 18

    The vintrage Benches.

  127. Kay | 14th Sep 18

Learning about you today was fun. You and I both love your little ladder with the wool on it, wish I had room for something like that. You collect chicken, I collect little bunny, and frog statues they are sprinkled all around my yard, while ducks have taken over my kitchen, they wouldn’t allow but one really old Mexican pottery rooster in the house. Like you we’ve always gifted each other an ornament every year most are homemade. My guest room closet is filled with huge tubs filled to bursting with Christmas boxes. I think I could decorate a dozen trees. Have fun on your trip to teach. Happy Quilting.

  128. teresamnj | 14th Sep 18

I like your vintage benches, the red and white vintage quilt.

  132. Linda Dial | 14th Sep 18

I love “vintage” and always have. I fell in love with it due to my gr aunt, my grandma and the visits to my gr aunt and gr uncles in Texas and some other states. Dressing up in old dresses from Grandma’s trunk, watching my gr aunt trace with a pencil on cardboard from boxes food came in, cutting the pieces out and then using them to trace with a pencil on fabric as well as she did not waste one tiny area of fabric. The cardboard templates were butted together on the fabric, she would cut the fabric, stack them neatly on the arm of her chair and then handsew the pieces together. I have the doll wardrobe she made me from scraps from the dresses she made me. When I cleaned out my parents place, I found a box filled with vintage quilt tops. From possibly the 30’s-50’s. At the bottom of the box was a quilt with my name in the middle. She used that green, it is bias tape she wrote my name in and sewed it on. I enjoyed reading what you wrote. k

  133. Cheryl Hammond | 14th Sep 18

I, too, collect vintage chickens, and have been known to rescue old quilts.

  134. Marlene H | 14th Sep 18

Greetings from Ontario, Canada! You love your vintage red and white circular quilt and those chickens! I love all figtree fabrics and can’t wait to get my hands on the Christmas Figs book! I enjoy collecting clocks including with clock motifs on them.

  135. Diane Clavin | 14th Sep 18

Your mushroom ornaments sound charming. I too started the tradition of gifting ornaments for my husband and children. Those are my favorites of all.

  136. Kay | 14th Sep 18

Enjoyed learning about you today. You love your little ladder stacked with wool, I do you. Wish I had room for something like that, maybe when I convert my spare bedroom to my quilting room. You collect chickens, I have ducks in my kitchen, and and old Mexican pottery rooster, while my little patio yard has turtles, frogs and bunnies. Little thinks that make us smile and inspire us. Happy Quilting, enjoy your trip to teach.

  137. Kristy Soard | 14th Sep 18

Oh Joanna, you have so many wonderful favorites…Your mushroom ornies, chickens, vintage quilts, yearly ornies for each family member and so many more. My favorite is a gift I received from my daughter. They are a set of three frames with laser cut signatures of my daddy, mom and sister who have all passed. The signatures and sentiments are exact replicas taken from special notes I have saved and treasured from each one. My daddy died when I was 8 and his sentiment came from the last letter he wrote me as he was dying in the hospital. My mom and sister’s came from notes of thanks they wrote me for the care I was giving them in their last months of life. These cherished gifts hang in my home where I see them daily and am reminded of how much family means and that love never ends.

  138. Beverly Vance | 14th Sep 18

I too love vintage chickens!! I cherish my mothers sewing notions, they too are vintage!!

  139. Myra | 14th Sep 18

  140. Kim Strickler | 14th Sep 18

Your Christmas ornament collection is one of your favorite things. One of my favorite things are all the homemade Christmas ornaments that my children and grandchildren made for me. They are so special to me and them and they are always placed at the top area of our tree. It’s safer at the top and out of of reach by our dogs and smaller grandchildren.

  141. Jeanne Lagas | 14th Sep 18

You collect some interesting things, vintage stools and benches, quilts, and ceramic chickens. I imagine it would be hard to part with any of them. I collect glass balls and creamers (I love little pitchers and other things that are round) but probably the most important thing I would take with me would be my family pictures. Love your new fabric line and book!

  145. Joanne Moore | 14th Sep 18

Your collection of vintage stools and benches sounds wonderful! Cant say I collect a series of things but a newly acquired fave is an antique carved rocking horse my husband and I found in a antique shop. 149. Patti Cardona | 14th Sep 18

One of your favorite things, vintage quilts, is also one of my favorite things. I also can’t imagine ever having Christmas without my child’s hand made ornaments. Only a child could imagine a crumpled piece of brown pipe cleaner was really a reindeer!

My first big Fig Tree project was the Yuletide Sampler that this book is based on – it’s one of my favorite quilts and I’ve been hooked on Fig Tree ever since! And I’m loving this new Christmas Figs line – picking up bits and pieces where I can, and would love to win more! Thank you for the opportunity!

  160. Carolyn Simone | 14th Sep 18

I loved your circle quilt. I have a deep love for two color quilts like that, although I’ve not made one. I’ve only been a serious quilter for the last year and a half, although I’ve been sewing all my life. I have some wooden ornaments from a kit that I painted my first married Christmas. That will make them 50 years old this Christmas! My how time flies

  161. Debbie Jarrell | 14th Sep 18

  164. LORI | 14th Sep 18

So I never comment on any of these because I still only dream of quilting. Not been brave enough to try one yet. So this was funny to me. I have to first say that the shared fig trees like is great. And now how this got funny to me. My sister just or me interested in collecting specific antiques and everywhere we go I would see those ceramic chickens. I recall having a blue one when we were kids buy they are now everywhere I go!! In starting to wonder if it’s a sign that I should collect them but oh my goodness. This just really hit me at the right time. Love your friendship and I do hope to one day start the quilting. Thank you for the laughs and smiles!

  175. Jan | 14th Sep 18

Vintage quilts are 1 thing we both love. I have some if my grandmother’s feed sack quilts. The 1 that means a lot to me is the baby quilt she made for me 67 years ago. It has appliquéd bunnies. Another quilt with a story I bought at an auction. There was a note attached to the quilt that the lady had made it while her husband was stationed at the Philadelphia Naval Yard during WWII. You also love old benches while I try & put a rocking chair in each room except hubby’s den.

I also love vintage quilts like you do and I am new to quilting and so excited to be making my first ones. I am a fabric collector and can’t resist buying pretty fabric but I have to put them to use now. Love your Christmas fabric, so cherry looking.

  180. Esther Bowe | 14th Sep 18

One of your favorites is your vintage red and white snowflake quilt. I love your quilt also, it invokes memories of so many wonderful childhood Christmases. 193. Lara Kirchner | 14th Sep 18

Your love of chickens cracks me up! We have an heirloom chicken pitcher which everyone dreads getting, although I seem to have had it for over 20 years now. Maybe I should send it to you!! I love vintage fabrics for quilting with. I enjoy thinking about what it was like to make quilts with the Love that it would have taken before all our new modern gadgets came along. Maybe someday I will make a quilt that way.

  194. Nancy Holley | 14th Sep 18

You and I share a lot of the same favorites! My daddy was an official chicken farmer (like we had 150,000 chickens and sold eggs to Winn Dixie for a living) and so I have always collected chicken items (like your ceramic favorites)!! One of my first ever finished quilts my sister and I pieced together was 12 beautiful hens we gifted to my mom together. I also have a collection of vintage stools, my favorite I found in my father-in-Law’s barn long before I married his son! He loved that I gave him a photograph of his first grand baby on that stool a few years later!!

  200. Karen Crafts | 14th Sep 18

You love vintage quilts, vintage benches, special Xmas ornaments- especially mushrooms, chickens – both real and porcelain! I think I need to get some pretty file folders.
Our family has Xmas ornament traditions- my parents give each of the grandkids a crystal ornament each year. My sister began a tradition of giving the nieces and nephews a silver snowflake each year. When my sister died (at age 39) I continued her tradition

  201. Sandra Weissner | 14th Sep 18

Vintage Quilts, Mushrooms & Chickens ????????

  202. Crystal | 14th Sep 18

  203. Doris | 14th Sep 18

I also love collecting chickens. I love that you love them too. I just received the Christmas Figs book today and am dying to order the fabric to do the red and green version (like I need more fabric…lol). I love the blocks. I just need to find the extra money and order so I can catch up with Pat. I love anything Vintage!

Chickens, CHICKENS, C_H_I_C_K_E_N_S has to be my favorite of what you collect. I grew up on a dairy farm so collect anything with Jersey or Holstein cows on it. After 47 years of marriage and putting up with my collecting, my husband now just rolls his eyes when I add something knew to my cow collection.

  209. Jodi | 14th Sep 18

One of your favorite things is a collection of ceramic chickens. At some time in my past I started collecting cow things. The biggest problem with that is everyone thought they should buy me something with cows on it for every occassion. There are just some things that should remain unchanged – cow toilet paper anyone?

Great interview with Pat! One of favorites, I think your favorite favoritein fact, are your old “not intricate” quilts! Love your fabrics & your coordinating new Christmas book!

  214. Christi | 14th Sep 18

Chickens of course. So funny you love them. I live in the country and everyone has chickens but us. I hate cleaning chicken coops. I grew up on a farm and I have scars on my hands from chicken pecks to prove it. Now the mushrooms I could get into.

  215. Donna | 14th Sep 18

Chickens are a favorite. Benches are my fav. And I also love all your fabric!

  216. Diana Longhenry | 14th Sep 18

  220. Wendy Link | 14th Sep 18

I love that we share a Christmas tradition of giving ornaments to our loved ones. I love my nativity tree and every year I buy more and more. Last year, I added 10-12 new angels and a hand carved wooden nail ornament that may just be my absolute favorite. This year, I will still buy a new ornament and possibly some new ribbons for some cute bows. However, I am going to focus on adding ornaments for my gingerbread tree.❤️????????????

  221. Janet T | 14th Sep 18

You love chicken ceramics! I have a chicken cookie jar that was around when we were growing up. Your little chicken with black trim reminds me of it. I love the red and white vintage “windmill?” in the photos.

  222. Brenda Michal | 14th Sep 18

One of your favorites is the benches you collect and have all throughout your house. I collect vintage signs and have a variety hanging throughout my home. Thanks for the great giveaway!

  223. Jo Barr | 14th Sep 18

One of your favorites is your vintage quilts, especially your red and white quilt with circles (and when you figure out how to recreate the pattern I hope you share it!). I am also in LOVE with vintage quilts, which I’m sure started with both of my sweet grandmothers when I was a girl, and has continued as an obsession! I can’t wait to make your Christmas Figs quilt because my other obsession is Christmas! Thanks for all your wonderful inspirations!

  225. Anita | 14th Sep 18

Your collection of mushrooms is one of your favorites, and I think they are adorable!

  226. Robyn Porteous | 14th Sep 18

Your mushroom ornaments sound a delightful favourite.

  227. Kim Jorgensen | 14th Sep 18

Like you, I love chickens. I don’t collect them — but my mom does, and it’s fun to find chicken collectibles to give her as gifts. My favorite Christmas ornaments are the hand carved dogs my dad has made me over the years. They look like the dogs and we had when I was a kid — a beagle named Patches and a dachshund named Kittle.

  228. Jeanette | 14th Sep 18

I love your chickens as one of your favorites. I, too, have a vintage chicken collection but dear to my heart is my milk glass collection. I am making your Christmas Figs quilt and will join Pat’s Quilt_A_long.

  229. Cathy McNaughton | 14th Sep 18

So many comments! Sounds like we quilters like many of the same things besides quilts. I have admired your talent and artistic fabrics for years. There are about 7 children and 15 grands who receive a special Christmas ornament every year after Thanksgiving dinner at my house. Very exciting and also time consuming to choose just the right one for the right person. But so worth it! They have already received many quilts among them, but I am starting to designate some of my own for each one of them. Just ensuring the quilts go to good homes!

  230. Renee | 14th Sep 18

We also exchange an ornament at Christmas. Our tree is full of holiday memories and snowmen. My husband and daughter buy me a snowman ornament every year. The tree is slowly getting whiter and whiter.

  231. Delcia Rosenow | 14th Sep 18

How about those favorite mushroom ornaments. One of my favorite things is my collection of children’s Christmas books, especially older ones. So far they occupy two shelves in a large bookcase.

  232. Diane Rubino | 14th Sep 18

Your favs are chickens and mushroom ornaments. I also have a collection of chickens and large collection of Christmas ornaments that have been collected through the years.

  233. Hildy | 14th Sep 18

Your ceramic chicken collection is one of your favorites but I bet you love your real chickens even more. One of my favorite chirstmas ornaments is a beautiful donkey it’s so pretty.

  234. Gail March | 14th Sep 18

I love vintage benches also. I have one in my bedroom that I would never part with. I also understand your love of the Vintage Red & White Quilt with circles……it is very beautiful.

  235. Glenda Hollander | 14th Sep 18

Your most treasured and fav would be your collection of vintage quilts. My fav would also be a vintage quilt my grandmother made for my graduation. They didn’t have a lot of money but she was resourceful and cut into her linens, and old clothes. It’s been 40 yrs that I’ve carried that quilt around and grandmother is long gone. I can snuggle up to that quilt and remember my childhood with my grandparents.

  236. Sherrie Conover | 14th Sep 18

I like that you love vintage quilts especially the red and white star. I love red and white quilts too but, my favorite color combination is blue and yellow with white.

  237. Cindy R | 14th Sep 18

Your love of antique quilts is something that is also close to my heart. I’m sure your collection well out numbers mine, but I have some very special ones that were made by my grandmothers. I also collect vintage quilt blocks when I can. I hope to get them set into quilts at some point but right now life has other plans for my time

  238. Kathy Lambert | 14th Sep 18

One of your favorite is your collection of Christmas ornaments that you started with your first Christmas married to your husband then adding more each year you had children. So needless to say you have 75 favorite ornaments. My favorites would be the Christmas ornaments my children made when they were in pre-school, kindergarten and their younger years. I will forever cherish those ornaments.

Great giveaway, thank you for a chance at winning.

  239. Meredith B | 14th Sep 18

You love vintage quilts, and your ornament collection is very close to your heart, especially the mushrooms! My most treasured ornaments are those made by my lovely mother, who passed away eight years ago, who was such an inspiration. She was a very talented lady who taught me to sew. It is really special to hang the decorations she made on the tree, and curl up under her hand stitched quilt.

  240. Carol Nelms | 14th Sep 18

Love your benches and mushrooms ! And fall quilts, Thanks for the great giveaway.

  241. Sheryl Bordelon | 14th Sep 18

  242. Tami Martin | 14th Sep 18

  245. Stephanie Hanson | 14th Sep 18

Love mushroom ornament and those darling chickens.

  246. Patricia Lenhart | 14th Sep 18

One of your favorites is your mushroom ornaments. Something I never thought of as an ornament. For 30 years I was in an ornament exchange. The ornaments were all handmade and great, but my favorite will always be the snowmen.

  247. Carolyn Solomon | 14th Sep 18

I loved your favorite red and white quilt along with the Christmas ornament collection story. Your quilts are ehimducsl and make me smile.

  248. Diana Webster | 14th Sep 18

Love handmade Xmas ornaments too, though unlike your favourite mushroom ones, I have 2 knitted snowmen that Mum made when I was young, and have hung on my tree every year since I got my first home and Xmas tree. Looking forward to starting my quilt, and hope to have it quilted by Xmas 2019.

  249. Rosemary L | 14th Sep 18

I love your chicken collection! Like you I also treasure my Christmas ornaments that have been collected over the past 45 years! One of my favorite collections are my antique cast iron door stoppers. I have them displayed on the staircase.

  250. Angela Walters | 14th Sep 18

You love your mushroom Christmas ornaments. We both love vintage quilts!

  251. Sharon | 14th Sep 18

Well ceramic chickens, antique benches/stools, of course your vintage quilts, and family photos. I love the chicken collection.

  252. Sally Makowski | 14th Sep 18

I love your favorite Christmas quilt you bring out every Christmas. I plan to make Christmas quilts for my 3 kids and their families. I hope they will make it a tradition also. I have a favorite ornament. It is a ceramic mouse that I painted years ago. He kinda just hangs out. Lol

  253. Karen Seitz | 14th Sep 18

Your ceramic chickens are a favorite of yours. I have a ceramic duck planter collection that I really enjoy seeing and using.

  254. Brenda | 14th Sep 18

You mentioned several favorite things during the interview. Vintage benches, ceramic chickens, vintage quilts . I have alot of favorite things so if I was asked the burning building question I would have to say “my whole house” HA HA ! Now that wouldn’t be possible would it ?

  255. Carol Kussart | 14th Sep 18

One of your favorites are you ceramic chickens. I have a “thing” for chickens right now too, with several in my kitchen and several chicken pincushions, along with several chicken fabrics that I need to get after one of these days. Love that red and white circle quilt you shared too.

  256. Sharon DAngelo | 14th Sep 18

I love your selection of fabrics. That is my one weakness when it comes to picking out fabrics for a project.

  257. Ellen | 14th Sep 18

I love how you always save a bundle of your fabric as a memento. I have attachments to some of the fabrics I’ve bought, too.

  258. Mary McGuinness | 14th Sep 18

Ceramic chickens stood out to me–I love them, too! That was a sweet interview to read–thank you!

  260. Janie Steele | 14th Sep 18

    Your vintage quilts and chickens

  261. Marci | 14th Sep 18

I believe I read that your mushroom ornament collection is among your fav. Mine was a Christmas stocking that my Aunt crocheted for me and my brothers. How odd is it that the only surviving stocking is one that belonged to my late brother, my other brother and I have lost ours. We put his up every year. That’s my favorite ornament.

  262. Cindy | 14th Sep 18

One of your favourites is a large collection of mushroom ornaments. I collect hummingbird items any shape or size.

  263. Stacy Ganga | 14th Sep 18

One of your favorites is your large collection of mushroom ornaments. I have recently started collecting ceramic chicken ornaments and cookie jars (I have two thus far) and they have become my favorite. My aunt got me hooked. I’m so glad she did. It’s a collection that we are building together.

  264. Margie V. | 14th Sep 18

I think your ceramic chickens are a favorite. Old family ornaments are my favorites especially those made by our kids.

  265. Carol Rice | 14th Sep 18

One of your favorite things is your Mushroom Collection. I made/gave my children each ornaments as gifts as they were growing up so that they would have memories for their own trees. Now, I am making stockings for each of my grandchildren. Another tradition in the making.

  266. Linda | 14th Sep 18

Your love of vintage quilts is one of my favorites too. I have six of my grandmother’s quilts that I slept under from childhood. And I love making new quilts now, some that are the same patterns.

  267. Konnie K Brockway | 14th Sep 18

I grew up watching my grandmother and her quilting bee ladies handquilting at a large quilt frame in her basement and have loved quilts since. She collected salt and pepper shakers too and I have a chicken set of hers and recently purchased a antique salt and pepper shaker/napkin holder chicken. I love it! Maybe vintage quilts and chickens are a common shared love of quilters.

  268. Mary Angelini | 14th Sep 18

Vintage quilts and ceramic chickens!!! I collect vintage quilts -most of which my dear Grandmothers made by hand!!!

  269. Jennifer Bergeron | 14th Sep 18

Chickens! I collect them too! I love the pictures Pat had posted. I’ve tried a few chicken quilts but I don’t know- they just aren’t vintagy cute enough. I hope you have a Pattern in your creative mind to create and share?!?!

  270. Angela | 14th Sep 18

Your Christmas ornament tradition is precious, and a way to mark the years. We have also been collecting a special ornament for each of our children, and when they have their own trees, they will become theirs loaded with memories too. And I share your folder love, ???? everything has it’s place.

  271. VerenaJones | 14th Sep 18

Your favorites were most interesting, however, the one that I found to be most appealing was your chickens! I collect Roosters!! We definitely should get together for a flea market chicken/rooster vintage quilt(another of my favorites) hunt day! Roosters remind me of my brother when he was in 11th grade in the 1980s and a certain way he styled the front of his hair.! LoL. He was so funny with the hair spray and such so he could get his “comb” just right before leaving the house,.

  272. Judy Vaesa | 14th Sep 18

Love your patterns. You mentioned making a Christmas ornaments for your husband. My Mom did that for our children, every year she designed and sent them a special ornament as to what they were into that year. It has become a special remembrance on the Christmas Tree every year.
The other favorite this is your benches. We did that too, as a child I remember my Mom making milk can stools, since we lived in a dairy town. We used them for the patio, every year we held a end of summer B-B-Que. Memories are what make me smile, when I talk about them, my kids smile too.

  273. Cindy wood | 14th Sep 18

    I love your chicken collection!

  274. Nancy | 14th Sep 18

One of your favorites was your vintage ceramic chicken collection. My late mother-in-law collected chickens also, and would have loved looking at yours. My favorite collection is my coffee mugs from each state that I have traveled to. I have visited all but six, and hope to complete them someday.

  275. Rebecca | 14th Sep 18

Perhaps your collection of benches might offer a future quilt pattern reflecting their beauty. I favor vintage quilts as it connects me with my Grandmother.

  276. Kris | 14th Sep 18

Loved the interview as always neat to get some insight into the quilt designers. Like the vintage chicken collection as it reminds me of my grandmother’s house and her best friend as they had these in their kitchen. Not sure what happened to them before she passed away, but I was able to get some vintage pink dishes that remind me of her as well as my great grandmother’s quilts (these were the most precious to me as a quilter). Thanks again for sharing!!!!

  277. NancyB from ManyLA | 14th Sep 18

One of your favorites is your ornament collection.. I lost just about everything in Katrina(luckily I had evacuated with just about all of my pictures) but we managed to salvage about 5 that were my kids, and also salvaged a quilt top I had made in a round-robin with a very dear friend and 4 other ladies. It had been buried in mud for weeks, and I managed to wash it. It has rips, holes, tears, missing fabric, and is very sad looking, but still together! It will never become a family heirloom because like most young people these days, my kids don’t really care about that, but it’s VERY meaningful and sentimental to me!

  278. Tracy | 14th Sep 18

Your large collection of mushroom ornaments are among your all time favorites.

  279. Julia H. | 14th Sep 18

One of your most favorite items is your mushroom ornament collection. I also started an ornament collection for my children so they would have a start when they had their first tree and those are some of my favorites!

  280. Kris | 14th Sep 18

  282. Kathleen Agar-Ross | 14th Sep 18

Your chickens, vintage benches ( which I also have a fondness for), ornaments and vintage quilts. I have a couple of Vintage sewing machines that are dear to me and I have a tendency to collect vintage sewing baskets. But if it came down to it it would be my Grandmothers quilts that would come with me. Thank you for this quilt alo g.☺

  283. Marsha | 14th Sep 18

Christmas is a special time and I love that you love all your ornaments. I too love Christmas, my tree is woodsy and the mushroom ornament would fit in just perfectly. One of the things I collect are snowmen. I love them because you can leave them out for the entire winter season. They bring joy to me. Thank you for the opportunity to win and thank you for sharing part of your life with all of us.

  284. Linda Gillespie | 14th Sep 18

Your red/white Vintage Quilts was one of your favs! A favorite thing of mine to collect is flower vases! I don’t want to be too wordy but can I say OMG YOU ARE SO MY IDOL!????????????????

  285. Cynthia Hibbard | 14th Sep 18

You love your vintage quilts. They are beautiful! I would consider myself a fan of more modern colors and styles of quilts, but there is something about your vintage style that draws me in. I’m new to quilting, but have fallen head over heels for it. It’s addicting. Your Figtree line has captured my heart. Would love the Christmas fabric. Thank you!

  286. Pattie Crum | 14th Sep 18

Mushroom collection is one of your favorites. I have a few and love them also. I have my Christmas Figs fabric and I’m waiting for the book to be delivered so the sew along is timed just right for me.

I also collected ornaments for my children each year so that they had ornaments for their trees when they finished school and went out on their own. It is nice to visit and relive memories of years past.

  292. Mary | 14th Sep 18

I would say it has to be the chickens! I have some of my grandmother’s chickens, but mine are the glass candy dish variety.

Chickens!! I have a thing for little red trucks!

  294. Linda Badurek | 14th Sep 18

  295. Kresti Lyddon | 14th Sep 18

You are quite a collector – chickens, benches, Christmas ornaments for your family – hard to choose a favorite! I, too, like Christmas ornaments, and I enjoy making needlepoint ornaments to illustrate a special event that year. I remember the time spent making each ornament, and the event that inspired the design when they go onto the tree each year! I am beginning to do that with quilt blocks, too!

  296. Deborah | 14th Sep 18

I can appreciate your love of the vintage quilts. Out of all of your favorite collections, the quilts have such varied and personal histories. As for myself, my journey in quilting is in the toddler stage. I have no tangible collections, but a lifetime collection of experiences and memories.

  297. Kathy E. | 14th Sep 18

I learned a lot about you in the interview! I know that your vintage quilts and collection of vintage chickens are items you cannot part with. I would certainly agree! Seeing your sweet chickens clucking away together would always grab my heart and wondering what other kitchens they’ve adorned in the past. They are adorable!

  298. Reve Fraser | 14th Sep 18

WOW! So many delighted quilters that LOVE ☺️ you! I am making the red and white circle quilt this fall for Christmas and LOVE ????Figs! Im glad you said you loved it, too! 299. Carol Furlong | 14th Sep 18

I love that you are collecting Christmas ornaments for your girls. I have 4 children (youngest 37) and did the same. Although they didn’t want to take their ornaments with them. They love coming home and seeing and searching for them on my tree to remind them of the Christmas’s we had. I enjoy putting them up each year each one has a special memory for me. I now put an ornament on their gifts now so they have to take them home.

  300. Lisa Walsh | 14th Sep 18

Your vintage quilts are one of your favorites! Some of my favorite things are vintage Hummel figurines that my father in law brought home for his wife (my MIL) from his military service in Europe.

  301. Pam McLaughlin | 14th Sep 18

Your love for vintage quilts is one I share. I think they are even more beautiful when they are pieced and quilted by hand.

  303. Janine Morrell | 14th Sep 18

I’m thinking you love all things vintage Joanna – me too! You love Christmas – me too! You love making Christmas ornaments first for your husband and then for your 3 kids; it’s hard for you to pick a favorite from those – but mushroom ornaments are some of your favorites. Personally, I love all things Christmas, your book and fabric are delightful! Janine

  304. Shirley | 14th Sep 18

I also love benches, and have a few set around the house. Although, mine aren’t vintage, they are small ones that my father made for my daughter when she was little. She is now a mother of two,, and these benches are very special to me. I also am a big collector of wood boxes. Thank you for the opportunity to win a great giveaway.

  305. Brenda Shippy | 14th Sep 18

I think your benches sound so cool. To have them in every room is something I would love. One of my favorite things is a antique cedar chest from the the 1920’s. I acquired it a few years back. I have filled it with quilts I have made.

  306. Libby | 14th Sep 18

One of your favorite Christmas Quilts is the “classic red/white with circles” . My favorite of your quilts is the Yuletide snowflake. Thru the years I see more and more of decorating with quilts, and it is so cozy… I am trying to get a couple done this year for Christmas, maybe not the Yuletide snowflake, but hopefully something. I love the collection of ornaments for you and your family, I have a collection started for both my granddaughters since they were born. Thanks for all your inspiration …

  307. Donna | 14th Sep 18

Your favorites include your ceramic chickens, your benches, your antique quilts, and your mushroom Christmas ornaments. My favorites items are the Christmas ornaments I have made each year for my children and grandchildren. I think of a new one each year. Last year was ugly sweater ornaments and this year is gnomes. It is an enjoyable challenge.

  308. ToniAnne Potter | 14th Sep 18

Your tradition of giving a Christmas ornament for a Christmas gift, starting with your husband when you were first married and continuing with your 3 children, even though you couldn’t pick just one ornament. My favorite is my maternal grandparents Christmas nativity, I’ve had it for thirty years and also some of their Christmas ornaments that they collected while my mother was growing up.

  309. Jennifer Shook | 14th Sep 18

Your chickens and I love chickens and have some in my kitchen.

  310. Janet Zabala | 14th Sep 18

  315. MaryLou | 14th Sep 18

Some many wonderful things I learned about your – those vintage benches of all sizes all over your home –
the ceramic chickens that would not be left behind – reminds me of my brother who raised chickens and had
the most beautiful roosters … also vintage quilts – I also seem to like the less than perfect ones they just seem
to have more heart and soul to them..
Here there are a massive amount of salt n pepper shakers – Mom collected them for years along with our
help of course when she died they all came to live with me and then I found myself picking up unusual ones
here n there so it is a growing collection that is so enjoyed…
Thanks or such a fun give away…

  316. Debbie Totten | 14th Sep 18

Handmade Christmas ornaments are my favorite gifts to give & receive as well! Before our children left the nest, we would have family home evenings to make the yearly ornament from whatever land the USAF had us stationed. I must admit that your favorite Mushroom ornaments are both unusual & interesting to me. Thank you for your beautiful fabrics, patterns, quilt tutorials, books, and giveaways! ????

I love ceramic chickens too! Love your milk glass ones.

  330. Karen Chambers | 14th Sep 18

One of your favorites is the red and white with circles. It is a beautiful quilt. Were it mine, I would leave it out all year on the window seat I have in a small sitting space in my kitchen; a favorite place to sit and read. My favorite vintage quilt is the one my grandmother made for me. She made 5 quilts from the same fabrics for myself and each of my siblings to be given to us when we married (they are of the same fabric but various patterns; mine is flower garden). She and my grandfather were killed when I was 14 and didn’t get to give them to us herself, but my mom saved them to give each of us. I loved my grandmother very much and will always cherish the quilt and all that it represents to me.

  331. Cara Bonner | 14th Sep 18

Hi Joanna! Love the new blog! One of your favorite things is your collection of 75 ornaments for your tree! I love that your kids will have a box of ornaments ready for their first tree! As most of us do, you have several favorite things. But I love that you have old benches. When I go to Lancaster, I look for benches as well as fabric. I have a favorite that is at the foot of my bed and I keep extra quilts on it for chilly nights.

  335. cathy k | 14th Sep 18

  336. Lyn Campbell | 14th Sep 18

Loving your chicken collection especially because my mother had a glass hen with baby chicks created in cranberry glass! Oh, how I wish I had those chicks.

  346. Lisa MacKay | 14th Sep 18

Your family ornament tradition is one of your favorites, as well as one of mine. We have 4 ‘children’. (The youngest turns 20 today!) Each year I’ve purchased an ornament for each of them. I try to choose something representative of something relevant to them for that past year; an activity they participated in, an interest they’ve shown, a significant event, or a personalized ornament. They each have their own collections that they then hung on our tree each year, reminiscing about the significance of each ornament. This year, the youngest got married and my oldest daughter moved out, so when the ornament boxes come down from the attic, they will take their respective boxes to use on their own trees, and mine will be a little more sparsely decorated. I anticipate that it will be a bitter sweet moment for me.

  347. Lisa MacKay | 14th Sep 18

PS I have an Avon Rooster I’d LOVE to donate to your collection!

  349. Vickie | 14th Sep 18

It has to be the collection of Christmas ornaments. My husband and I get one every year and we started buying our 5 children one each year so they would have a start to a tree. Since my husband went home to be with the Lord 2 1/2 years ago the memories are still too hard but they are great ones. I ‘ve started the tradition with first grandson

  350. Susy Dowers | 14th Sep 18

I am pleased to hear one of your favorites is your chicken collection, I too am drawn to chickens and roosters (maybe cuz I was a fram kid). I usually get something chicken related as a birthday present (cuz I am old…opps I mean MATURE and don’t need anything) and that day is coming up very soon. I for one would love for you to share a picture of your fabric bundle collection, to see the different color range and designs…..and cuz I am nosey!!!! Thanks!

  351. Nancy Roraback | 14th Sep 18

  353. Ruth Fruhauf | 14th Sep 18

Your favorite collection is your family ornaments. I did that with our family too. Now my husband makes delicate 3-D ornaments on his scroll saw. As far as vintage quilts go I have one made by my husband’s grandmother. It is a Dresden Plate made from pieces of clothing and I love it. I am excited to do Pat’s quilt along of the Christmas Fig Tree with several friends from our guild.

  354. Crystal Mills | 14th Sep 18

I especially like the question about what is your favorite Christmas ornament ( mushrooms ) I to have a large Christmas ornament collection. My favorite is a glass pickle. When my youngest daughter was only a toddler she had to have heart surgery. Knowing it was a dangerous operation, we wanted to do something that would lift her spirits beforehand. so we all went to Disney! She was allowed to choose any ornament she wanted in a Christmas shop at Epcot and she choose a pickle. 20 years later we still hide the pickle on our tree and whoever finds it, gets an extra gift.

  355. Cindy S | 14th Sep 18

You said classic red/white with circles is a favorite. If that’s the quilt shown at the top of that page, I love it too.

  356. Lori Witt | 14th Sep 18

  357. Patty bertrand | 14th Sep 18

One of your favorites is vintage quilts and one of my favorites is a Singer sewing machine form the 60’s that I lovingly call Gloria after her original owner. My firned Heidi gave it to me it was her Moms’ and I have known her since elementary school and her Mom sewed all her clothes on that machine and let me tell yopu she had cool clothes long before they became cool.

    🙂
    Have a terrific day.

  358. Janet Friedrich | 14th Sep 18

Fun interview! Your favorites include the red/white circle quilt, your mushroom ornaments (I could’ve guessed that one … you have a “thing” for mushrooms), vintage benches and chickens … I collect chickens (and roosters) too, but am no so lucky as to have live ones in the mix!

  359. Vicki | 14th Sep 18

  363. Katherine Mikros | 14th Sep 18

I would love to make the circle red and white quilt too! Like you I love vintage quilts. I just inherited a quilt from my Great Aunt Norma. I even got a pattern for quilting it as it was only about half done. But I will finish it and think of her the whole time. Remembering all her funny stories of life”s journey. PS I’d grab quilts and my machine. I can always get fabric 🙂

  364. Sue Weber | 14th Sep 18

I almost cried when you said you would grab your vintage quilts if your house was burning, such memories sewn and folded into those quilts. Beside the usual things, I would have to take my sewing machine. It means, if all else is lost, I can create new, positive memories.

  365. Rosalie | 14th Sep 18

Benches, ceramic chickens and vintage quilts to name a few.

  366. Diane | 14th Sep 18

Your chicken collection is one of your favorites I share. My favorite thing is a red work crib quilt, signed (but unfortunately not dated) by my great grandmother. It’s her maiden name, so she made it before she was married in the 1890s.

  378. Sarah parker | 14th Sep 18

I to love vintage quilts and antiquing. It’s fun to see what patterns people of the past have created and how they solve the problem if running out of a particular fabric.

  379. Sue Galasso | 14th Sep 18

I too share your love of vintage quilts. I have a fairly large antique mall near me and every couple of months I go to see if any quilts need a new home.

  380. Janet Torres | 14th Sep 18

love the christmas fig book that I bought. Love the fabric that you used in the book. Would LOVE to win the fabric so I can get started…….

  382. Sarah C Yoder Parker | 14th Sep 18

I’ve always liked antiquing and when I come across a quilt I like to see how quilters have solved the problem of running out of a particular piece of fabric.

  383. theresa j | 14th Sep 18

One of your favorites is the mushrooms and so is mine

  384. Nancy Schuldt | 14th Sep 18

Your love of vintage quilts is something to which I can
relate. I didn’t know it at the time, but my passion for well loved quilts comes from one my great grandfather had on his bed. It was hand made from old clothing and the seams were stitched with intricate patterns I would lay and trace for hours. Today I appreciate even more the work and love that went into the creation of this work of art. Thank you for reigniting these memories of my childhood with your books and everything you share with the public!

  385. Lynne Hoefer | 14th Sep 18

One of your favorites is vintage benches and stools which you have in every room. I do as well, but mine are usually in front of a window full of plants.

  386. Susan Salo | 14th Sep 18

You singled out the mushrooms from your family ornaments. My favorites are the ornaments my kids made for us and for the tree. Some are over 30 years old and I still put them on every year.

  387. Teresa Hackett | 14th Sep 18

Your precious Christmas ornaments are among your favorites I see, as well as mine. Vintage quilts are also very special tho. I’d have to grab my grandmothers dreaden quilt she hand sewed. I think yours would win out too. Especially the red & white circle quilt.

  388. Denise Clason | 14th Sep 18

I really like your collection of chickens. We took care of chickens for a while at my home for several months for a friend. But I use a lot of chicken eggs, because I like to cook. I also have your chicken fig book, that I really like. I do like Vintage blocks. ????????????

  389. Barb Smith | 14th Sep 18

You love vintage ceramic chickens. You also love your ornament collection. One of my favorites is my collection of our three children’s handmade Christmas ornaments they made at school. Some of them are nothing more than a piece of construction paper, but the kids were so proud to hang them on our tree each year! Now they look at me and ask why I’ve kept them!

I guess the only thing I collect currently would be fabric. I hate to cut most of it because I want to find a pattern “worthy” of it!

  390. Jacqueline S Taylor | 14th Sep 18

The Vintage quilts & fabrics I think, really is probably you most Fav.. I am intrigued by the vintage fabrics.. I have a Quilt top my daughters Great Grandmother never finished. She finished the top but was not put together to quilt.. Some of the fabs have worn completely out with holes or rips in the blocks. What I want to do is try to match up as close to the fabrics that are damaged to repair this & finish it out for her. This will take some time, I know! In the meantime, I also have just completed my reno of my Sewing Room. Now waiting for my Arrow Sewing Machine Cab. to arrive.. Can’t Wait. I have projects for Christmas to work on & its late. I Do Love all of your Ornaments & Pincushions. These make Great Gifts too.. I hooked up on Facebook with The Fig Tree a while back. So enjoy all you post..

  391. Amanda S | 14th Sep 18

Your love of your vintage ceramic chickens made me smile. My mom loves chickens, of all types. She as everything thing from small salt and pepper shakers to an 8 foot mural painted by a local artist. Oh, and real chickens. That like to try and walk into the house.

As for me, I collect crafts and my vintage (I have my great grandmother’s loom) and vintage-esk (I have a very modern spinning wheel) tools are some of my favorite things. I love that I can sit down in front of them and do something that has been done for thousands of years by millions of women.

Maybe I’ll start that quilt after I finish the Christmas Figs QAL. I am enjoying trying to keep up with the QAL, and Pat’s incentive are just the thing to encourage me. Thank you for the opportunity to win. ljbisme at msn dot com

I love to give and receive homemade Christmas Ornaments. I have tried to make one each year for my grandchildren. My most treasured items are the homemade quilts made by my grandmother during the depression. My Dad retold stories of how grandma made everything from the flour sacks. Every vintage item has a story to be told. Thanks for sharing your collections and love of quilting. Happy Quilting:-)

  398. Sharon Decker | 14th Sep 18

The red and white circle vintage quilt for which you have yet to find a simple way to recreate it is one of your favorites. I love the hand appliqued chicken quilt I made several years ago.

  399. Alisa Meador | 14th Sep 18

Your love of vintage quilts. I have a love of Christmas. I too have a collection of ornaments that my grandmother and mom started for me. I now collect ornaments wherever I travel. 400. Brenda | 14th Sep 18

I so enjoyed reading about your “favorite” Christmas ornaments. I have also collected ornaments, from family vacations, and one for each of our children, and now grandchildren, in the year they join our family. With 6 kiddos, I hope to one day have a tree that only houses these ornaments. On the other hand, I love to collect hand painted ornaments each year, as well, just picking the ones that speak to me and remind me of the meaning of Christmas!

  401. Stephanie Brokaw | 14th Sep 18

Chickens! My son has just started raising chickens and they are so fun to watch no wonder you (and probably me, too, soon) like to collect them. The only other thing I collect besides UFO’s is fabric, especially Fig Tree!

  402. Susan L. | 14th Sep 18

I love your mushrooms and the chickens. I collect vintage tin boxes. I have one that belonged to my grandmother that’s very special. I also gave my 3 kids a new ornament each Christmas so that when they move out, they’ll have rnough to decorate their own tree with memories.

  403. Cynthia Burris | 14th Sep 18

  405. Maggie Carter | 14th Sep 18

I have a friend who has saved ceramics chickens for 30 years and she has quite a collection. They make me smile every time I see them. No wonder they are a favorite of yours. Have you ever designed a fabric using the chicken shape? Thank you for all of the work you do to keep us quilters busy. Hugs, to you, Maggie Carter

  406. Lynne Eastburn | 14th Sep 18

Your favorites include your vintage quilts and your vintage-inspired quilts. I enjoyed reading about your vintage benches and your chickens. We too have been married for a long time and have given each other Christmas ornaments every year–they were also our souvenirs when we traveled. We live in a vintage log cabin filled with sentimental family things. And we love it all. I guess “Vintage’ is my middle name, too.

  407. Amanda Thompson | 14th Sep 18

I don’t have any mushroom ornaments like your favs but I did have mushroom canisters and such in my kitchen for 37 years. We decided last year it was time for a change. You mention that you love vintage quilts (me too!) and one of your favorites is a Christmas red/white with circles quilt. It was beautiful. All those pesky y-seams though. 😉 One of my favorite quilts was a memory quilt I made with an old friends button-up work shirts for his then 2 year old little girl. It was a blue and white/cream quilt and had a very classic feel also.

  429. Jen | 15th Sep 18

  431. Pam Sommers | 15th Sep 18

Joanna. Thanks for sharing your inspiration with your Christmas Figs pattern and fabric collection. I have not been quilting long but, like you, I love vintage quilts. I can just imagine the stories those quilts could tell..fabrics made from a discarded shirt or a Sunday dress that became just a bit too snug!

One of my other favorites, though, is looking at a quilt block and analyzing it to see if I can make it easier for a beginner quilter….or whether I can adapt it to be strip piecing friendly.

I’m really enjoying this block of the month. Thanks!

  432. Vivian Oaks | 15th Sep 18

Your Christmas Figs Quilt-a-long looks like lots of fun. Your benches are very important to you. You have various sizes through out your home.

  440. Pepi Lopez | 15th Sep 18

I have to start saying that I really love Christmas. The first one after I got married, I did not have any ornament si I went to my mum’s home and talked about this with her. In that time, after loosing my grandparents, she decided not to put the Christmas tree anymore, so she told me to take what ever I want from her stash. I chose my favourites, the ones you always remembered, and after 20 years, you still can see them in my Christmas tree. They bring me memories from when I was a child, with all my family around the tree. And I have another tradition. I like to travel. So I normally bring one Christmas ornament from every place I go. I don’t like the one colour ornament trees, I prefer to see it full of things that I have memory from. (Sorry about my English, I am from Spain ????)

  441. Carol Irvine | 15th Sep 18

I would love to see your collection of benches, they are one of my favourite things too. Your Christmas ornament collection sounds really special too

  442. Cathy Jackson | 15th Sep 18

Among your favorites are red/white quilts and mushroom ornaments, I don’t think I’ve ever. Seen a mushroom ornament. Among my favorites are quilts with house blocks and I love Santa ornaments!

  443. Cathy Gwozdz | 15th Sep 18

Hi Joanna! It is so nice of Pat to introduce me to you! I enjoyed reading the interview and enjoyed getting to know you! I too had a collection of chickens! It all started with the one I received from my grandfather. I wanted to use it every day so I used it as a butter dish! Unfortunately I dropped his top and that was the end of him. ???? . But like rabbits they started to multiply until I sent them home with my children! I did keep a few and still use them as butter dishes! I love your line of fabric and enjoy quilts of all ages. As I am on a “do not buy any more material” notice from my husband, he couldn’t say anything if I received some for a gift!

  444. Beverly Javins | 15th Sep 18

One of your favorites is vintage quilts. I enjoy collecting just about anything with a vintage sewing theme, including children’s sewing machines.

  445. Jan Altomare | 15th Sep 18

Vintage quilts are one of your favorites!

  446. Becky Murray | 15th Sep 18

Your favorite ornament is 1 for each year you were married and one for each year your 3 kids have been here – so 75 favorite ornaments. My hubby and I started getting ornaments of the places we visited starting with our honeymoon. My current favorite is from this year – Hershey, PA. It was the first time we stayed in a hotel as a family of 4!

  447. Rosie Davis | 15th Sep 18

One of your favorites would be the beautiful red and white snowflake vintage quilt.
I love most anything vintage including myself! ????
My favorite is my vintage Dresden plate quilt I picked up at an auction for $20.00.
Thanks for sharing and your giveaway.

  448. Theresa Kotsmith | 15th Sep 18

I love that you have ornaments for each of your children! I have done the same, though my children are a little younger, so I have the a total of twenty so far between the three! Thank you for the opportunity to get to play with your fabric by winning this wonderful collection!

  449. Linda Olive | 15th Sep 18

One of your favorites is the beautiful red and white Christmas circle quilt. I just love it also. I have to say that my favorite of yours is the love of your collection of ceramic chickens. I, too have a chicken collection that was originally started by my mother and continued by me. Makes me think of my sweet mother every time I look at them.

  450. Veline Ball | 15th Sep 18

I loved that you would save your vintage quilts, if there were a fire! (After your family pictures, of course.)
I love my vintage quilts! I find them at rummage sales and thrift stores. I also love my vintage planters that I turn into pin cushions????

  451. Diane | 15th Sep 18

  452. Barb Saari | 15th Sep 18

One of your favorites is the collection of ornaments for each of your 3 children over the years. Mine is the same. I bought an ornament each year for each of my 3 sons.

  453. Denise | 15th Sep 18

You love vintage quilts and so do I! I love the hand quilting on the vintage quilts in my collection. I have a Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt that has different initials, embroidered with floss, in the center of each flower. I would love to know about the ladies who made this quilt.

  454. Ruby Riesland | 15th Sep 18

Your ceramic chicken collection is fantastic! I have just one ceramic chicken; one that my neighbor lady gave me when I was a little child. They are fun.

  455. Karen Stephens | 15th Sep 18

I love vintage fabrics. I also collect old quilts. Mainly the ones no one wants. Nothing fancy, the ones that have been loved to pieces. Your favs are vintage benches and your red and white vintage quilt.

  456. Ursula | 15th Sep 18

Your favorite Christmas ornaments struck a cord with me because I, too, have purchased a special Christmas ornament every year since I got married, as well as buying one for my daughter each year since she was born. Now she buys one for me each year as well, which makes them all more precious! Sometime soon, I’ll have to purchase a second tree to hold them all. ????

  457. Sally | 15th Sep 18

My aunt used to make ceramic chickens like yours, one was used for strawberry jam! I’ve always been partial to your palettes which I would call tints on split complementary and very easy to use. Thanks for the giveaway.

  458. Vivian | 15th Sep 18

Your favorite and mine: Vintage Quilts!! You’re lucky to already have your red and white Stars and Circles quilt to decorate with. I’m at this very moment contemplating making a “vintage inspired” red and white Lone Star. I just have to decide whether to go old school retro with solid fabrics or scrappy reds like in your Yuletide Snowflake quilt. Thanks for offering the chance to win some of your fabric!

  459. Donna G | 15th Sep 18

I love Christmas! Isn’t collecting ornaments fun! I always had the kids pick out and ornament every year! Your Christmas wuilts, chickens Pottery and benches are my style too!

  460. Beth | 15th Sep 18

One of your favorites is your chicken collection, which is super cute. I keep thinking I need to get some chicken figures for my house to go with my real life chickens! My favorite home decorations are my mini quilts and framed puzzles on the walls, too many to choose just one! But they are about my only wall decorations and I love them!

  461. Peg | 15th Sep 18

Mushroom ornaments seem to be one of your favorite things.

  462. DeAnn | 15th Sep 18

Vintage quilts! I love them too!

  463. Janet Barnet | 15th Sep 18

Your chicken collection is your favorite. I have a rooster collection!

  465. Jay | 15th Sep 18

Although I only have one, I share your love of mushroom ornaments — I don’t even like mushrooms! Besides the pictures and our critters, I think I’d have to grab my featherweights. One belonged to my Aunt Barbara, and tho other is painted a lovely melon color. Like Pat Sloan, I tend to hoard my Fig Tree fabrics, but I have a couple of patterns in that bin now, so I think a quilt or two will get made from them soon.

  466. Lori Chiovare | 15th Sep 18

One of your favorites is your large mushroom ornament collection. Mine (and my daughter’s) are our small, handmade, wooden stick horse ornaments, which are very hard to find so even more treasured when we do.

  467. Jean Venezia | 15th Sep 18

There are so many lovely replies, I probably don’t stand a chance on winning your gorgeous fabric but….I have to try. One of your favorites is your vintage benches. That fact resonated with me as one of my favorites is also an old railroad bench I used in my kitchen for years and loved that item until we downsized and I was forced to part with it. Onward with newer memories, and the hope that another family is enjoying the bench as much as mine did! A Quilt along is just the thing I’ve needed, motivation! It’s been hard to get started on anything new lately…this is the push to do it! Expecially since your fabric colorway is so darling!

  468. Dixie McAdam | 15th Sep 18

Mushroom Xmas tree ornaments are one of your favorites. Our family started ornament collections when our kids were little, for exactly the same reason you started such gifts. Thanks for offering the giveaway.

    Dixie

I started a yearly collection of ornaments for my 2 children, and started one for each of my grandkids, and great-grandkids.
Love your fabrics-so bright and cheery.
    Thanks.

  471. Dawn | 15th Sep 18

I love your chickens too! I have a collection on tea cups and saucers my grandmother had which I too have added more of them throughout the years! Your fabric is beautiful!

  472. Nancy A | 15th Sep 18

You love all your Christmas ornaments. I also love all our ornaments because of the memories that go with them. A lot of our ornaments are connected to a place we have visited or with family. We also gave ornaments to each of our 3 girls every year which they took with them when they married. Now we give ornaments to each of our 10 grandchildren although I recently thought about when it is a time to stop doing that. Two of them are 23, and one of those will be married next month.

  473. Brenda Katz | 15th Sep 18
