MODA BLOCKHEADS 5: GROUP 2 – WEEK 19

This week’s designer is Sarah Thomas of SARIDITTY and her block is called CENTER STAR, reminiscent of her Foundation Paper Pieced (FPP) beauty from MBH5, Group 1 – but with a more traditional background setting this time. Be sure to check out Sarah’s WEBSITE to learn more about her!

……

This week, we decided to forego FPP. Instead, we were inspired by the alternate block that Corey Yoder of CORIANDER QUILTS offered last week…be sure to check out her blog for instructions HERE! We tweaked ours just a bit, and have provided additional instructions for you below!

OUR BLOCK #19: PLUS STAR (6″ Finished)

Removing the center cornerstone from Corey’s block just creates the feel of a present in the center… perfect for our red and green Christmas quilt!

  • Take a [C] square, and sew to an [E] rectangle. Then add another [C] square. Repeat to make (2) C/E/C units.
