Navajo Stars

SINGLE STAR INFO

Our pattern mentions that you can make just one star of this fun pattern and use it as a perfect sized table topper or wall hanging. Here is the info to finish that one star block [instead of the 4 or 9 stars in the quilts in the pattern].

The star block is made exactly as the one in the pattern- but just one! Trim it up reguarly just like you would for the quilt [so we are assuming a 23 1/2″ trimmed up star]- all the instructions for that are in the pattern.

Then add the following borders:

1st inner border [Somerset red]: (1) 1 1/2″ x 23 1/2″ and (2) 1 1/2″  25 1/2″ strips.

2nd middle border [ivory solid]: (2) 1 1/2″ x 25 1/2″ and (2) 1 1/2″ x 27 1/2″ strips.

3rd outer border [green floral]: (2) 2 1//2″ x 27 1/2″ and (2) 2 1/2″ x 31 1/2″ strips.

Bind with (3) 2 1/4″ binding strips [aqua solid].

Here below is a Christmas version that we made up because we just couldn’t resist another one!

It is a mix of Somerset fabrics along with some Tapestry and Honeysweet thrown in. Basically just a few of our favorite reds, greens and creams.
