Happy Valentine’s Day… or at least Happy Planning for Valentine’s Day!
We wanted to get the new year kicked off right – and one idea came to mind immediately – a SEW ALONG with our favorite peeps…that means you!
We’ve decided to keep this one a bit of a mystery, but not to worry. We think you’ll love this scrappy, beginner-friendly pattern. You know it will have pinks, reds and creams AND that it will have hearts… but that is about it. Will you join us?
The sew along will last 4 weeks and will begin on Wednesday January 15, 2025. We will have a weekly blog post sharing that week’s assignment and free pattern instructions, so meet back here on the blog each Wednesday to join in on the Valentine’s fun!
Also – be sure to join our FIG TREE QUILTS FRIENDS FACEBOOK GROUP where we will be sharing our progress and cheering each other on!
……
Honestly, I am not much of a heart girl usually, but I do make an exception for a few weeks a year and this would be it… :-). I recommend seeing what you have in your stash and starting to create your “fabric pull” from there. You can go more red for the focus fabrics and or choose more corals and pinks instead for a softer vibe. Think about what feel you are going for as you pull your fabrics and give yourself the freedom to change your mind as you start.
A couple notes: We are going light but definitely scrappy with our low volume cream prints for the MAIN BLOCK backgrounds [we like the sparkle it adds] and even more scrappy for the ACCENT BLOCKS, but feel free to use less busy background fabric for a more subtle quilt finish if you prefer.
Our quilt will finish at 65 ½” x 65 ½”, so you will need:
……
We have a few bundles that would be perfect for some of the requirements above. As we sell out, we will add similar feeling bundles in the upcoming week so check back on the featured page HERE if you are in search of fabric or just take the above MATERIALS LIST to your local quilt shop for some fun shopping!
We also have a few backings HERE that will be ready to ship next week.
We recommend our CORAL EYELET, STRAWBERRY EYELET or other similar small scale red or coral print for the binding.
……
A little mystery not your thing? Looking for a few more pattern ideas? We thought it might be fun to show off a few of our favorite seasonal quilts to celebrate LOVE…all in one place! Check them all out in a single blog post HERE!
Happy Sewing!
-Joanna

I am checking this post on Tues 7th per your email today…and all the pinks are gone I’m guessing, as they’re not listed in the shop. Will you put together more?

The bundles were just some limited starter bundles if people didn’t have anything to work with. You are meant to use your stash… follow the materials list in the post, grab a few reds, corals and a bunch of pinks and creams for the scrappy rest. If you dont have any pinks in your stash, take a look at your local quilt shop. I am sure they have lots of pinks right now!

I’m not at home for the winter but would love to do this quilt once I get home. Can this project be saved somehow so I can do it once I’m home?
