BACK FROM THE QUILTER: CHRISTMAS TWINKLE & MY SECRET GARDEN BOM

I’ve recently gotten a few quilts back from their spa date with my amazing custom quilter, Diana Johnson and I couldn’t wait to share them with you!

I took some photos over the weekend and just had to make sure these lovelies had a permanent place here on the BLOG for all of you to see. Diana does such amazing work…just wait until you see those close-up details!

I always have my block-of-the-month (BOM) quilts custom quilted because they are the “star of the show” kinds of quilts for me. You could, of course, do an allover design, too and I have seen some lovely examples of those. If you are leaning that way, I recommend something classic, like a BAPTIST FAN, PUMPKIN SEED, or CROSS HATCH.

CHRISTMAS TWINKLE BLOCK-OF-THE-MONTH

Our latest BOM finish is our CHRISTMAS TWINKLE quilt using my BUON NATALE fabric collection. We started the BOM in June 2025 and finished it up in May of this year!

We worked with many of the reds from BUON NATALE for a classic RED & WHITE Christmas sampler feel…one that will surely be cherished each and every Christmas.

We used the iconic CHRISTMAS VILLAGE BORDER PRINT as the bottom border for the quilt, along with some delectable mountain blocks for the rest of the borders to tie it all together.

I mean seriously…do I even need to say more?

MY SECRET GARDEN BLOCK-OF-THE-MONTH

MY SECRET GARDEN was originally created with my JELLY & JAM fabric collection, with a distinctly garden/gardening flavor. The color palette full of light and warm greens, warm tans and taupes with touches of peachy pinks, corals, yellow, aqua, and light blue.

Given the theme, I was sure to include lots of fun touches, including: a garden shed, vines, potted plants, veggies, animals (including a goose!), and lots of flowers.

In fact, our goose was so popular, she has recently become her own stand-alone pattern…we lovingly call her GERTRUDE!

The name of the sampler is inspired by the nostalgia and charm of a secret garden, one that you can enter into through a simple wooden gate and be inspired by what you find inside.

We normally do not release our annual BOM sampler quilts as patterns for a large variety of reasons. However, sometimes due to popular request or because a perfect “companion” fabric collection has been released, we make it a priority to recreate and offer it as a stand-alone pattern.

With the arrival of my SUMMER’S END fabric collection this Spring and the widespread love, we took the opportunity with MY SECRET GARDEN!
