PATTERN SHOWCASE: DAISY PATCH

My latest fabric collection, MAGPIE, was just announced at the H+H Americas Trade Show in Houston at the beginning of this month (shipping June 2027). If you’d like a closer look at some of the fabrics from my MAGPIE collection, be sure to visit the FIG TREE & CO. YOUTUBE CHANNEL and watch our latest VIDEO SHORT.

And with new fabric comes new patterns! Throughout this week, we have been showcasing the remainder of the MAGPIE coordinating patterns right here on the blog and over on my INSTAGRAM PAGE, as well.

And last, but certainly not least: DAISY PATCH!

DAISY PATCH

Sometimes all it takes to create a new unique design, is to re-imagine a small simple block in a new way. When I first created this flower block, I sure liked it BUT it wasn’t until I set it like this that I truly loved it!

This sweet little block will look good on almost any background and to show you this, I have created it in two completely different colorways here and I hope this will help you imagine it in so many others as well!

……

QUILT SPECIFICS

Our main ivory based sample is created around a single LAYER CAKE of the MAGPIE collection, which means it is scrappy & vintage feeling in all the best kinds of ways!

The second version is the same exact size & construction but yardage is used for the blocks for a more limited palette and it is set on my favorite DENIM EYELET fabric as the background. It is a great example of how completely different and dramatic a quilt can look simply by changing the main background color.

My favorite SEW & FLIP method is used for all of the construction so the blocks are simple to construct and a lot of fun to put together!

  • Quilt Size: 76 ½” x 76 ½”
    • Original [Cream] Version pieced and custom quilted by Diana Johnson.
    • Daisy Blue Version pieced by Jeanie Maher and custom quilted by Diana Johnson.
