CHARM PACK FUN WEEK!

This week coming up… and actually the next week too… we are going to be celebrating the charm pack. Follow along with us to see what we are doing on Instagram and in our Facebook Group to celebrate the humble charm pack… more specifically our FIGS & SHIRTINGS CHARM PACK!!

PURPOSE:

To have some fun with Figs & Shirtings Charm Packs together.

Projects:

We are going to feature and work on 4 different projects for you to choose from.

Timeline:

Kits are now available to purchase in our shop so anyone who is interested in working alongside us can grab their goodies and get them as soon as possible. We will announce more details on when we will add follow up posts soon!

Intro Information: 

It’s almost the middle of our Stitchery Sampler Sew Along and we thought it might be nice to work on some scrappy fun alongside the sampler [for those of you participating] or to introduce some new projects [for those of you who are just watching the Stitchery Sampler Sew Along and enjoying all the eye candy]!

Charm Packs have always been one of our all time favorite precuts to sew with so we are going to feature 4 different projects for us to work on.

You can of course do them all… they will all look and feel totally different or you can pick your favorite… or two :-).

Our projects will be CATALINA STARS, SPARKLE: MEGAN’S VERSION, SPARKLE: SUSAN’S VERSION and FLY AWAY. See the details about each project below.

We will be working on all of the projects over in our Facebook Group and will post weekly updates here on the blog too! Susan will be working on Catalina Stars and the SPARKLE pattern on a black chambray background. At the same time, Megan will be working on a SPARKLE pattern on a soft YELLOW SOLID background and we will be showing updates of that. Joanna will talk to us about the Fly Away pattern and show some fun pictures of that simple and classic pattern.

CATALINA STARS:

FIGS & SHIRTINGS VERSION

This will be available as a kit for the pattern as shown. Based on 2 Charm Packs and some fabulous light cream prints, this is a simple pattern that is fun and quick to do. The kit will include binding but no pattern [since SO MANY of you already own the pattern].  You will need to purchase the pattern separately if you don’t already own it. 

FLY AWAY

This is a free pattern on our blog [just search for FLY in our search bar to find the post with the pattern for FREE DOWNLOAD] and features the Figs and Shirtings collection. It is based on 3 Charm Packs, some background and 2 borders. Kit will also include the orange binding shown.

SPARKLE

This is a classic Fig Tree pattern called SPARKLE that we have seen done in so many colorways over the years. It is based on 4 charm packs and a background. This time around we will be working on it either in a dark version on our favorite black chambray [Susan’s version] or in a soft and summery version on our favorite yellow solid [Megan’s version].

Each kit will be divided into 2 parts-

Part 1: “Block Kit” will include the charm packs and the pattern and any block accent fabric needed for that version.

Part 2: the “Background Kit” will include the background we are using as well as the binding. If you want to do either quilt exactly as we are doing it, then purchase both parts. If you just want to work on the blocks with a different plan or a different background of your own imagination, then just grab the “Blocks” part.
