PATTERN SHOWCASE: PLOUGH & HARVEST

Welcome Back!

Today the pattern parade continues for my newly announced fabric line, BUTTERNUT & SAGE!

Whenever I can, I love to add a simple and straight forward precut-friendly pattern that I think will showcase any Fig Tree collection well, and this is one of those instances.

I am already visualizing other versions in a wide variety of fabrics and styles. These might feel autumnal because of the fabrics but gosh this pattern would be gorgeous in Christmas fabric…or patriotic or even a summer vibe?

The PLOUGH & HARVEST quilt pattern is super versatile and comes with 3 different block sizes, two made from a Layer Cake and one from a Charm Pack. Of course, your collection of favorite fat quarters would also work beautifully!

Your first decision will need to be what kind of precut you want to work with. Note that one of the LAYER CAKE versions in the pattern creates both the block center as well as scrappy posts. The other two versions, use a single fabric for the post choice.

As usual… I like to give you as many options as the pattern has space!

We have used (2) fairly solid fabrics for block accents. These two colors should be complimentary or two tones of the same color so that they add a subtle but noticeable alternating feel to the blocks once they are laid out in the final assembly.

You will be making half of your blocks from each of those two ACCENT fabrics.

Of course, I couldn’t stop at just one – and made this pattern with (3) block size options! You can choose the main quilt or there is also another LAYER CAKE version, as well as a CHARM PACK version, featured in the styled pictures above, if one of those better suits your style!
