VINTAGE BOWTIE SEW ALONG… STARTING NEXT WEEK!

In case you missed it (ICYMI) – the long awaited STRAWBERRY GARDEN book has arrived! This newest book in our series is chalk full of quilty inspiration and in addition to the main sampler has so many other coordinating options to go with it, We can’t thank the ladies at Fat Quarter Shop and It’s Sew Emma enough for working on it with me, doing all of their book and photography magic and of course publishing it!

To celebrate the release of the book, we are hosting a SEW ALONG along with the contributors to the book, a few of my quilty friends, Kimberly from FQS and many of you from our Facebook Group. I really do think you should join us as well :-)… how is that for a pitch 🙂 ?? It should be lots of fun and we really should also get lots done especially since this block is super quick to make and is very versatile!

If you missed our PREVIOUS BLOG POST:

• We are going to be using one of our favorite companion quilts in the book – the VINTAGE BOWTIE FANCY QUILT. We all thought that it was perfect in the new JELLY & JAM, in a more limited palette, or totally scrappy. In fact, we couldn’t think of a single version of this quilt that we didn’t love so we were SOLD in choosing it for our SEW ALONG.
• It is also perfection as a scrap buster. So if you like the scrappy look, pull out your scrap bucket and start looking for colors placing them in one pile and low volume tone on tone fabrics in another pile. that is pretty much all you will need to do to get started.

• We will be posting weekly here on the BLOG, on INSTAGRAM and in our FACEBOOK GROUP, where we will be sharing and cheering each other on.
• We will be posting our weekly updates on Tuesdays. We will kick off the festivities NEXT WEEK (May 14th) with our first “GATHER YOUR SUPPLIES” info post. Then, be sure to come back to the blog on Thursdays for a FIG FRIEND FEATURE to showcase our wonderful makers who contributed to STRAWBERRY GARDEN.

• We will be using the hashtag #vintagebowtiesewalong – so please add that as a hashtag if you share your progress on social media. You can also feel free to share the below icon to your account and invite your quilty friends to join you!
• I do believe some lovely prizes will also be involved :-).

• We are not doing a fabric BOM program for the main sampler with the new book here at Fig Tree since this is a sampler that we have already worked up previously. However, the Fat Quarter Shop is definitely doing one so check with them. I do believe the BOM Program they offered has sold out, but they have a STRAWBERRY GARDEN COMPANION BUNDLE that can be used alongside JELLY & JAM – and you can still follow along with them that way as they work through the sampler over the course of the next year!

Again, this is a great stash buster, but we have created a few starter bundles per your request – in the shop while supply lasts! If you click the link and nothing appears, that unfortunately means we have sold out. We will try to create new ones and see if we can add colors but JELLY & JAM has sold out so quickly that our supplies have already dwindled!
