12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS: DAY #7

Hello Fig Tree Friends-

It’s the 7th day of the 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS SALE [the elves took the 6th day off to start shipping all the goodies] and that means that the second part of the sale BEGINS TODAY WITH A WHOLE NEW SET OF KITS, GIFTS and NOTIONS! Woohoo!

We are still shipping your boxes from the first set of days… and the elves are working overtime to get everything out to you as soon as possible… so please be patient. We do have elves… but not an army, just a small handful :-). If you have received a shipping notification and want to shop again, you need to purchase another BUY-A-BOX. If you have not gotten one yet, but you know that you got more than one bulky item and your box is close to being full, it will ship in the next few days and you still need to purchase a new box [if you can’t remember what you have already purchased, go and take a look inside your Fig Tree account]. Any 2 or more bulky items will most likely fill up a box and it will ship. If you just purchased a few little items, we will hold your box.

Let the next 5 DAYS OF SALES BEGIN!

If you are joining us for the first time, welcome. CLICK HERE  for all of the info.

ON THE SEVENTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME, SEVEN SWANS-A-SWIMMING.

Again with the birds… why so many birds my friends? Does anyone know the history of this lovely song? Anyway, swans have a special place in my heart because in Poland, where I was born, there was a huge park in the middle of the city where I lived. And in the park, a giant lake with swans. I don’t remember much from when I was a little girl in Poland but I absolutely remember those swans. They were beautiful and we fed them bread all the time. My true love can feel free to bring me swans anytime.

If you just want to shop, in that case just  CLICK HERE AND ALSO SCROLL ALL THE WAY TO THE END TO SEE THE SPECIAL OF THE DAY!

KIT OF THE DAY: RETRO CHRISTMAS BUNDLE

There is something about these retro inspired fabrics that just makes so many of our hearts go pitter pat! Filled with Christmas reds, retro greens, mixed in with some fabulous Christmas creams, this bundle is retro and whimsy all rolled up into one!
Each bundle contains a large variety of reds, greens and creams, (14) 1/2 yds cuts in each as shown… that is 7 yards of fabric ladies and gentlemen… perfect for so many projects!

Use this bundle for any variety of Christmas quilts of your choosing or with the FREE PATTERN provided with the bundle. This year that will include our HANKIES 1,2,3 pattern- which has 3 different quilts in it and all 3 versions can be made with this bundle! Which is made especially for beginners with al of the tips and hints we have for working with our favorite SEW&FLIP method. This is fabulous “go to” pattern for so many collections and works perfectly as a fun and simple Christmas quilt.

If using this RETRO bundle to make this quilt, you will only need to add 1 yd. ivory background and that is it [feel free to add it from our shop and add into your 12 days box]. You will have enough fabrics from the bundle to do all of the block piecing, the borders and even the binding! In fact you will have enough of the patches for the center of the quilt to make several quilts… so if you get on a roll, you will just have to add some of your favorite reds for the borders!

GIFT ITEM FOR THE DAY: CANDLES

We are so happy to introduce you guys to some of our absolutely favorite candles for this time of the year. I do not think you will regret grabbing up a few of these… they are fall and winter perfection. Each and every one of them. They are from ANTIQUE CANDLE CO, handmade in the heartland of the USA… by a lovely group of folks who couldn’t be sweeter. We are so proud to support their small business.

Limited quantity available!

Scents include FALL HARVEST, CHRISTMAS DAY, APPLE PICKIN, PUMPKIN SPICE and TREE FARM. They come in the most amazing mason jars, in both large and small sizes, and a few of them come as a part of their limited edition BLUE BALL JARS. Just scroll through the loveliness… and just imagine the scents…

NOTION ITEM OF THE DAY: A FEW OF MY FAVORITE PINS

Although I am kind of a pin purist, I have really enjoyed adding some of these sweet little flower head pins to my pin entourage! They are both functional and cute at the same time!
The sharp finish of the pin glides through many layers of fabric and right into any pincushion. Flat head is convenient for machine stitching and ironing.

Plus I use them to mark rows and other things as well because the head is so easy to see! In fact we have been known to mark them with a permanent pen with numbers to use for row and block markers! They work better than most “official” block markers.

Head is not heat resistant. Do not apply iron directly. 20 pins comes in a card. The pincushion in the photo does not come with the pins.

These lovely red and pink flower heads that just make me happy!

AND MY 2ND SET OF FAVORITE PINS…

Okay, you know how I said the the LITTLE HOUSE PINS are my favorites ever, well they are… other than these! If you want pins that are a bit longer [they come in at a respectable 1 7/8″ long] and a bit stronger. They come in a quantity of 100, two glass head colors of orange and green in a small plastic box- these pins are as perfect as the LITTLE HOUSE PINS but just a bit stronger and more substantial. They also slide through your fabric like butter and feel wonderful to work with! I’m kind of addicted to both pins and think you need to have them too!

SPECIAL OFFER OF THE DAY: Any 12 DAYS ITEM purchase from today, will receive a free CHRISTMAS MANOR pattern with their order. Its a fabulous house pattern that is a must have in everyone’s Christmas collection.

Tomorrow’s SALE will go live at noon, [PST as always]. See you then!

I’m so excited about the retro fabric bundle and hurried and purchased it even before I saw the bonus of the free Christmas Manor pattern. Double score today. Thanks so much!! Happy holidays to you and yours.

I am having such a fun time shopping the 12 Days of Christmas sale!!! I know my first box is overflowing and I started a new box today! I love the variety of products offered and the little add-on gifts if you make a purchase that day. I’m going to miss the daily surprises each day and setting my alarm for 3am to see what goodies await me. Good thing I joined the Little Box of Figs club and the Seaglass BOM, can’t wait! Merry Christmas!

I’m underwhelmed by the sale items offered so far. I don’t want or need candles, pincushions or tote bags. I assumed there would be precuts for sale. I haven’t been inspired by the Christmas kits. They are lovely fabrics, but how many Christmas quilts does a quilter need to make? My box is empty. I feel that the sale was overhyped. At least the purchase price of the box will help the food bank.

Sounds like this event is just not for you. Unfortunately we never promised precuts- we dont even sell precuts! We always do the same thing every single year: one kit, one gift and one notion for every day of the sale. And it is something that hundreds of you look forward to each year for the past 7 years and we are so happy to provide these fun products to those that enjoy it. Thanks so much for the contribution to the foodbank!
