SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT TODAY: STRAWBERRY GARDEN BOOK & SEW ALONG

A little birdie has told me that the brand-new STRAWBERRY GARDEN book that I published with the lovely ladies at IT’S SEW EMMA … has arrived at their warehouse, and my copy is on its way to me and due to arrive in my hot little hands by the end of this week!

…….

I am so excited to share this one with you all. If you haven’t already heard the story of how it all came to be… STRAWBERRY GARDEN was one of my in-house Block of the Month (BOM) programs several years ago, and one of the ones most requested as a “rerun”. Of course, we were out of spots and out of fabric.

So when I designed JELLY & JAM [my newest fabric collection that will be shipping from MODA at the end of this month], I realized it would be perfect pairing for a brand-new STRAWBERRY GARDEN SAMPLER and a whole group of companion quilts.

The STRAWBERRY GARDEN book was born with the amazing work of the ladies at IT’S SEW EMMA. They are the best publishing team to work with and I am always so happy with the result [our previous book collabs have included CHRISTMAS FIGS and A SCRAPBOOK OF QUILTS, which I co-wrote with my friend Carrie Nelson].

So…. if you have pre-ordered a book from Kimberly [Fat Quarter Shop/It’s Sew Emma], I am sure it is being packed up and ready to go as we speak. If you would like to grab a book from me, mine will be here next week and I would love to sign it for you and send it out to you to add to your quilty library!

Go ahead and CLICK HERE if you haven’t already pre-ordered one and we will be happy to take care of you!

STRAWBERRY GARDEN BOOK SEW ALONG: VINTAGE BOWTIE FANCY

To celebrate the release of the book, we are hosting a SEW ALONG!

Just to avoid confusion, I thought I would share a few things here today with lots more info coming soon:

  • We are going to be having a wonderful SEW ALONG with this book using one of our favorite companion quilts in the book. The VINTAGE BOWTIE FANCY QUILT is our choice. We all thought that it was a perfect scrap buster, perfect in the new JELLY & JAM, in a limited palette [like the scrappy green one shown below and in the book] or totally scrappy. In fact, we couldn’t think of a single version of this quilt that we didn’t love so we were SOLD in choosing it for our SEW ALONG.
  • We will be posting weekly here on the BLOG, on INSTAGRAM and in our FACEBOOK GROUP, where we will be sharing and cheering each other on.
  • We will be offering various color starter bundles once the fabric comes in for this SEW ALONG.
  • We will be posting on Tuesdays. We will kick off the festivities on May 14th with our first “GATHER YOUR SUPPLIES” info post.
  • We will be using the hashtag #vintagebowtiesewalong – so please add that as a hashtag if you share your progress on social media.
  • We are not doing a fabric BOM program for the main sampler with the new book here at Fig Tree. However, the Fat Quarter Shop is definitely doing one so check with them. I believe the BOM Program they offered has sold out, but they have a STRAWBERRY GARDEN COMPANION BUNDLE that can be used alongside JELLY & JAM – and you can still follow along with them that way!

I sure hope you are planning on joining us. We are getting ready here with some fabulous prizes from us and from the Fat Quarter Shop, as well as so many different colorways to share with you, bonus settings, extra goodies and more :-).

Looking forward to sewing with you all!

-Joanna

I fell in love with this quilt and your fabric when I saw it! I immediately got in on the FQS bom strawberry garden quilt. Thank you for sharing your creativity.
