APPLE BLOSSOM ROAD PATTERN

If you have followed me for even just a bit of time, you will likely know about our legendary BOM SAMPLERS. And if you don’t… I guess then today is the day you found out about them :-).

The Backstory

Every year for at least the last 10 years, we have offered several annual BOM programs [BOM stands for BLOCK OF THE MONTH]. Most of the programs are a full year, 12 months, and a packet of instructions and fabrics is sent to the subscribers every month. By the end of the year together, we have created a beautiful heirloom quality sampler quilt. Looking back on it, most of us can’t even believe that we actually finished it and I think that is the number one best thing about these programs… little by little we build something incredible that we would never have thought we could do if we just sat down and attempted it on our own.

NOTE: These BOMs are monthly paid subscriptions and are totally different than the regular SEW ALONGS we host in our Facebook Group. We also offer the LITTLE BOX OF FIGS and the FIGS & FRIENDS PROGRAM every year. All are fabulous and I hope you join us in ALL the things, but I just wanted to add this quick note that all of these programs are very different from one another.

Normally our BOM patterns are exclusive to those that have signed up and paid for their annual membership but once in a while when there is a new perfect collection for a redo, we consider recreating the pattern for the public after the program is done [several other BOM patterns have been made into patterns such as HALLOWEEN FIGS, SPARKLES & CREAM, TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS to name a few]. And after ROSIE fabrics arrived and we received hundreds of requests for this pattern to be offered, I couldn’t say no!

So here we are… APPLE BLOSSOM ROAD SAMPLER is now available as a stand alone pattern and can be faithfully reproduced with the current ROSIE fabrics mixed with my EYELET basics and some other additions.

PLEASE READ ALL THE INFO BELOW

  • The fabrics used in the original quilt were a mix of my FRUIT COCKTAIL collection, light blues from BUNNY HILL’S CRYSTAL LANE, and a large collection of low volume ivory and cream fabrics.

  • Yes. The pattern can be made very closely resembling this original color scheme with the current ROSIE fabrics, my EYELET basics, some additional sourcing of lighter blues and a wide variety of low volume ivory prints. You will definitely want to start collecting some “cornflower”/lighter blues to add in as well as any grouping of soft low volume prints to add sparkle to the background.

  • When looking at the pattern to purchase, please read the description carefully as there is a detailed materials list and a list of the other stand alone Fig Tree patterns that you will need in order to finish this sampler as shown.

  • I would consider this an intermediate quilt. There is nothing here that is too intricate or complicated but there are definitely lots of various techniques and blocks. That is honestly one of my favorite things about these samplers as they give us an opportunity to learn and try different blocks and we never get bored or tired of doing the same thing over and over! Even if you find a particular block difficult, you can do anything once [or twice]!

Here is a gallery of some of the block close ups.

The quilt features flags, baskets and lots of classic blocks…

On the right above is our ANNIE’S WREATH block that is focal part of this sampler.

Lots of interplay of small and large blocks...

And of course some pinwheels and fruit!

Hope you have enjoyed a little visual trip down APPLE BLOSSOM memory lane.
