The Story of the Original STRAWBERRY GARDEN BLOCK OF THE MONTH SAMPLER

Every year for the last 7 or so years, we have run several special BLOCK OF THE MONTH programs in our Fig Tree shop. They first started as a way to provide our Fig Tree fans [without a local quilt community] with a special program to participate in together. Over the years, these BLOCK OF THE MONTH programs have grown and turned into my favorite projects to work on together with you each and every year. Watching the sampler evolve month by month is something I wouldn’t trade for anything, especially since I am working and designing just a few months ahead of you. It’s a journey for us both!

We are a small team at Fig Tree and unfortunately the programs are limited, and we always have WAY more people who might be interested than we can include in that year’s program. So whenever I possibly can, especially when a perfect collection presents itself, I try to turn one of these programs into a stand alone pattern – or better yet- a book! This time I am proud to announce that I have once again teamed up with the lovely ladies at ITS SEW EMMA and the FAT QUARTER SHOP to bring to you the STRAWBERRY GARDEN BLOCK OF THE MONTH SAMPLER BOOK.

But this time… made with the upcoming

JELLY & JAM FABRIC COLLECTION

Jelly & Jam [my newest fabric collection which is showing to shops as we speak] was the perfect match for the STRAWBERRY GARDEN SAMPLER BOOK in both theme and color scheme. The original project was created a few years ago with STRAWBERRIES & RHUBARB collection, and JELLY & JAM could not be a better match to recreate it for this book project! Here are just a few sneak peeks of the blocks from the new version of the sampler in the new book…

We are still working on the book and the sampler quilt now. The STRAWBERRY GARDEN SAMPLER book will release from It’s Sew Emma in time for the fabric to arrive in Spring 2024. So this is all WAY AHEAD OF THE GAME [just so you know everything that is happening]!

All book PRE ORDERS have to be placed through the Fat Quarter Shop (FQS)/ IT’S SEW EMMA who is publishing and producing the book but, you know we will of course be carrying the book here at Fig Tree as well once it is published next Spring.

The lovely ladies at the Fat Quarter Shop are also hosting the main sampler from the book as a BOM for the STRAWBERRY GARDEN SAMPLER!! Their program runs May 2024 through April 2025 and includes the Strawberry Garden Book, Jelly & Jam, Eyelet Basics, and Linen Cupboard coordinating fabrics from Fig Tree, plus a few Honeybloom fabric SKUs from 3 SISTERS [arriving January 2024] for the 60.5″ x 70.5″ quilt top and binding!

***PLEASE PLEASE note that this program I am talking about is different and completely unrelated to any BOM programs that we might have here at the Fig Tree shop this year or next year. Our current BOM programs include MIDNIGHT IN THE GARDEN, APPLE BLOSSOM ROAD, and CINNAMON SPLENDOR. Next year, we will be hosting the upcoming FROM THE LINEN CUPBOARD that starts in January and MY SECRET GARDEN (using Jelly & Jam) + who knows what else! I know this gets a bit confusing for some, but although we love to collaborate as often as we can, we are completely unrelated and two totally different businesses. I create the fabrics and my own patterns and programs under the Fig Tree Quilts label here at Fig Tree. I work with MODA to design Fig Tree fabric collections, and I love to collaborate with stores for programs, retreats and special offerings – especially the ladies at Fat Quarter Shop and their publishing arm, IT’S SEW EMMA.***

If you have been bummed ever since you missed out on the original STRAWBERRY GARDEN BOM a few years ago [ I know there are a lot of you as this is one of our most requested program] -OR- you are seeing all of this all for the very first time, this is a great opportunity to join them in the full year long program for next year. BONUS QUILTS + PROJECTS

You know me… I couldn’t resist adding in some extra goodies to the book to make it even more worth your while… even if you already did the original sampler with me a few years ago.

Let me tell you… There are a total of (4) bonus quilts in addition to the sampler, (1) table runner, and (1) table topper also included in the STRAWBERRY GARDEN QUILT BOOK and perhaps even a pillow or two if I can pull it off! I won’t share everything quite yet so we have a few surprises to look forward to but here is a favorite one of the bonus quilts that I think you will absolutely love… more on these closer to the release of the actual book next year!
