MODA BLOCKHEADS 5: GROUP 2 – WEEK 30

Our BLOCKHEADS journey is nearing its end. Today is our very last block of MBH, Series 5! How are you coming along? Have you stayed caught up?

This week’s designer is Lynne Hagmeier of KANSAS TROUBLES QUILTERS and her block is called SHADOW STAR. Be sure to check out her BLOG to learn all about what she has to offer! We really love this block and decided to use it as one of our 12″ choices to feature in the center of our quilt.

As you can see, we are starting to put our blocks together into our MBH5 SETTING. We can’t wait to see it finished! Scroll down for a direct link to our Fig Tree setting instructions.

PIECING INSTRUCTIONS:

As always, we are using the SEW & FLIP method to create our flying geese units. If you’d like to follow along, eliminate the cutting instructions for [D], [E], [F], and [G]. Instead, cut:

• (8) 2 1/2″ squares [D]
• (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles [E]
• (8) 2 1/2″ squares [F]
• (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles [G]

All other piecing instructions are as depicted in the MODA Pattern Sheet.
