LATE SUMMER… PEARS IN A ROW

If you followed along in our FRUIT SALAD SEW ALONG, you may remember seeing a glimpse into a LATE SUMMER version of our PEARS IN A ROW quilt during week 6, where we featured this delicious fruit. You can find that blog post HEREand be sure to read all the way to the bottom!

You may have also seen a few snaps on our social media feed, on Instagram (@figtreeandco) and Facebook (Fig Tree & Company) of block progress, but I am happy to say I have officially finished the quilt top and couldn’t wait to share it with you! 🙂

The PEARS IN A ROW pattern is featured in my latest book FRUIT SALAD, pages 25-28. You will notice that I made a few slight changes to this version – most obviously the color palette, but I also changed the DAISY block features into scrappy patchwork blocks with my stash of “low volume” creams. I opted to eliminate the checkerboard sashing, as well, and instead went with my orange baroque floral print from HARVEST MOON as the outer border.

I think that’s one of my favorite parts about quilting and designing. By making slight changes in layout or color, you have a whole different quilt to enjoy!

I know a few of you were able to snag the original fabric bundle, which has now sold out, but we have been able to make up some STARTER KITS for the pears. Click HERE if you are interested. If nothing comes up when you click on it, that means we have sold out. You can also of course feel free to dig in your stash for some soft butterscotch oranges, golden yellows, warm tans, and a mix of greens to get started on your own LATE SUMMER PEARS quilt. You aren’t too late… its actually kind of the perfect time of year for it!
