MODA BLOCKHEADS 5: GROUP 2 – WEEK 20

This week’s designer extraordinaire is the lovely Lissa Alexander and her block is called SPINNING STAR. There is something so lovely about this special little block… perhaps it is the movement of those strip pieces? You can almost see it spinning, no? This is for sure a favorite block around here and one we have done as a pattern in both full size and mini [see SWEET SUGAR SWIRLS].

PIECING INSTRUCTIONS:

No changes to the pattern this week… I know, its a miracle, right?

You will notice you are working on the bias a lot with this block, so handling the blocks carefully and pinning as you go will be your friend! Don’t rush and sew accurately… if you don’t starch, a bit of spray starch will definitely be helpful this time around to keep your pieces from shifting and stretching.
