MODA Blockheads: Block #55

Welcome to Week #55 of the MODA BLOCKHEADS 3 SEW ALONG. I can’t believe that this is the second to last week of this amazing sew along. This week it Jen Kingwell’s turn once again and she is bringing us her Wine Not Block and it is a very unique block… just like Jen :-).

THIS MONTH’S BLOCK #55: WINE NOT

For this block, we chose to do a 8″ block for our version, the last 8″ block for the quilt. If you are doing the math, that means all we have left to do is one 12″ and one 6″ for next month… its a good thing that it will be our turn :-).

WORKING ON FINAL LAYOUT

We have gotten dozens of emails in the last week asking us about our final layout. We have posted it before, but here it is again BELOW. We have just made a few alterations to one of the ones offered by MODA a while back, added a few of our own alternate blocks as well as some cream patchwork blocks.

We will also be adding a simple scrappy cream patchwork as an outer border all the way around. Other than that, we have not made any other further changes or alterations so for those of you who are following along with my version exactly, you will be good to go. You can certainly start cutting 2 1/2″ cream print squares in as much variety as you can. You will need a bunch to go all the way around the quilt!
