Gosh in all of the fall time madness, somehow we forgot to give this beautiful addition to our pumpkin line up a permanent spot here on the blog. So today we are talking all things PUMPKIN & DENIM.

In the style of PUMPKINS & CREAM [one of our top selling pumpkin patterns], I couldn’t resist playing with little blocks inside my pumpkin again. This time it was a solo pumpkin and a favorite grouping of inside blocks…

I promise that we love all of our many pumpkin patterns equally (from PUMPKINS IN A ROW to PUMPKINS & CREAM, and all the others in between) but this time around I wanted to add a new twist to our ever-growing pumpkin garden.

This single oversized pumpkin with its large oversized stem and a soft blue star in the background is the perfect table topper or wall hanging. And with the addition of denim instead of black, it has a much longer “growing season” if you ask me! There are a few variations of this quilt in the pattern… a single row of blocks or a whole collection of sweet little blocks. Not sure if I have a favorite but one of them is certainly faster to make than the other :-).

DENIM PUMPKIN CROSS STITCH

And because we couldn’t leave well enough alone, we thought it was time to add a bit of cross stitch to our pumpkin fascination. I have long admired the art of cross stitch and its delicate fanciful motifs. I love admiring vintage and new cross stitch samplers and designs. They are just so beautiful. I will forever remember my mother in law showing me some of her work many decades ago and I remember admiring it even back then. But alas, I am not a cross stitcher!

So… my lovely friend Susan is a cross stitch lover and I knew she was up for a new creative adventure and so together we have created a new kind of pumpkin goodness for you!

Introducing the DENIM PUMPKIN CROSS STICH PATTERN

A first in what we hope is a long series, the DENIM PUMPKIN CROSS STITCH pattern is a direct inspiration from the quilt, as you can see. And as they say… everything is better as a MINI and this could not be more true here. I might have shrieked a bit when I first saw this gorgeous little handful of PUMPKIN GOODNESS!

So for those of you quilter/cross stitchers out there, this one is for you.

DENIM STARS OF THE HARVEST CROSS STITCH

Since we are talking cross stitch today, this adorable coordinating star is actually a previous FREEBIE cross stitch pattern from our STARS OF THE HARVEST sew along that Susan has revisited so that it coordinates with DENIM & DAISIES as well as the new DENIM PUMPKIN CROSS STITCH!

Sometimes the hardest thing about these sweet cross stitch projects is the decision about what to make it into at the end… right? Bowl fillers are our favorite way hands down.
