PATTERN SHOWCASE: TEA FOR TWO

Welcome to the official PATTERN SHOWCASE for this delightful addition to our pattern line up. Somehow this post got lost in the shuffle of the recent VINTAGE BOWTIES SEW ALONG so I am posting it here… during our official TEA PARTY.

If you follow along with our adventures in our FACEBOOK GROUP or even on Instagram, you will likely already know about my love of tea and that I start each and every day with a cup. So when I challenged myself to design the latest summertime pattern for our Little Box of Figs subscription, it wasn’t a hard task to choose teacups as the subject! These little lovelies are quick to put together and not so small that they are “fiddly”.

They look equally good as a topper, a runner or mug mats [see more info below]…

FABRIC REQUIREMENTS

Finished size: 38″ x 40″
Pattern available via PAPER or PDF.

• BLOCKS: (2) Charm Packs of JELLY & JAM collection -or- (30) fat 1/8ths -or- large scraps of a variety of colors and prints
• BACKGROUND SOLID: 7/8 yd. ivory solid
• SASHING: 1/4 yd. small cream print
• OUTER BORDER: 3/8 yd. cream floral print
• BACKING: 1 5/8 yd. ** see note below
• BINDING: 3/8 yd. small green print

** Given the “in between” size of the quilt, your backing can be made using regular width and adding 2 1/2″ strips on each side to create the length needed for your longarm quilter. See inside pattern for more info. As an alternative, you can use 2 5/8 yds. and have a lot of leftover.

…and we might just have another fun extra using the TEA FOR TWO pattern!

After designing the TEA FOR TWO quilt as the main project in our Little Box of Figs subscription, we could not resist adding a little tea mug mat for all of you tea lovers out there. You know this is going to get a lot of good use in my office as I sip my favorite tea every day.
