Summer Scrappy Patchwork Quilt Kit

Hello Quilty Friends-

The moment we saw the newest collection from my friends Laurie and Polly, Mackinaw Island, I knew I wanted to use it for a simple summer patriotic quilt… a patchwork that anyone could put together in a weekend!

It wasn’t until I also fell in love with the Sashiko woven fabrics from my friend Kari from French General, that I knew I wanted to see these two collections together.

We mixed in a few other print favorites including a Mochi Linen Dot to round out the group and voila… the Summer Scrappy Patchwork Quilt was born.

One collections gives us florals, paisleys and dots. The other collection gives us the most fantastic woven fabrics that mimic the Japanese stitching art of Sashiko. Each fabric has actually stitches in it that look like hand stitched threads of one color with another.

The kit includes (22) 1/4 yds of all of the fabrics shown here above along with a small print navy fabric for the binding. The kit comes with our brand new pattern, SCRAPPY PATCHWORK. For those of you who are familiar with our annual Ben’s and then Zack’s Patchwork quilt kits [named after our boys and the quilts that we sent with them to college], this is a sister pattern to those. The pieces in this kit are smaller, based on 1/4 yds instead of 1/2 yds and include more variety in the quilt itself.

For now, the pattern is only available with the kit.
