AUTUMN PATCHWORK...inspired by our harvest-feeling bundle from a few weeks ago, I knew I wanted to work on something I could squeeze into all of the other deadlines I had. So it had to be easy. Like really easy.

BLACK EYED SUSAN… I first introduced this garde

BLACK EYED SUSAN…

I first introduced this garden-feeling flower quilt alongside my PORTOFINO fabric collection. I couldn’t decide between the traditional Black Eyed Susan coloring [using orange and black EYELET BASICS] or the more late-Summer RUDBECKIA version [using a LAYER CAKE of various prints], so of course I included them both! You should know me well enough by now that oftentimes I just can’t pick one!

Fast forward to the release of AGATHA ROAD, and I couldn’t help but picture the BLACK EYED SUSAN pattern in these lovely oranges, soft blacks, greys/taupes, and creams for a really soft autumn vibe.

The AGATHA ROAD/BLACK EYED SUSAN sample was sewn and quilted by the ever-so-talented Diana, @quiltedgrammy. That custom quilting...oh my gosh, so good.

PUMPKINS & CREAM…originally created waaayyyy back with my very first Halloween collection, ALL HALLOWS EVE, we couldn’t help but put a new spin on this pattern favorite with my latest fabric arrival AGATHA ROAD.

We chose a darker background this time around [MODA Bella Mink I think], but still soft and romantic and timeless.

Such a great pumpkin quilt throw with a mix of oranges, creams, and just a touch of black…plus a few of my favorite tiny classic blocks to decorate each pumpkin!

Okay, so I have to know. What is your favorite… classic cream or moody dark??

WOW WOW… have we had a wonderful CHRISTMAS IN JULY month full of quilty goodness! If you’ve been following along in our Facebook Group or on the BLOG, many of these seasonal projects will look familiar to you and I hope it’s made you inspired and/or helped you stay on task this month!

A huge thank you to Susan [@thefeltedpear] and Lacey [@laceypoirier] for all of your amazing project contributions to our fun event, as well.

I especially want to thank Susan for her sampler cross stitch work that encouraged so many of you to jump on board with Fig Tree cross stitch! You all know that I am a cross stitch newbie but I am itching to do more and you all inspire me.

Even if the month is over, doesn’t mean that you have to stop working on your projects!

Keep on finishing your goodies, posting them, and tagging me! WE ALL LOVE to see all that you are working on and I think it keeps us all motivated and working together!

Each year I pull together a specially curated grouping of favorite MODA fabrics in my signature vintage Halloween vibe and hope it inspires your sewing creativity! We are winding down our Christmas in July event ov

We are winding down our Christmas in July event over in our Facebook Group and on the blog, and welcoming the arrival of my AGATHA ROAD fabric collection. This post sort of feels like the best of both worlds…literally!

PECAN BLOSSOMS was inspired by vintage cross stitch motifs, and they took on a life of their own the moment I sketched them out. The versions that “made the cut” in the pattern include a large and a medium quilt both on cream backgrounds as well as a smaller topper version on a black background.

My dear friend @cynthia.bird decided to give this pattern a Christmas vibe and I am totally in love with the finish.

I’ve seen a summery version pop up, too and I am so happy to see how versatile this pattern is becoming. Feel free to mix & match the sizes and the color combos to suit your fancy.

Adding a wreath to my front door is the first step in the changing of the seasons for me and something I look forward to each year [I might have a few too many wreaths on rotation].

Originally designed in reds and greens for an older Christmas pattern line up, I am very excited to see this CHRISTMAS WREATHS sewn up in an Autumnal version, too! It is so soft and yummy...

Grab some of your favorite tans, greys, golds, butterscotch, orange, rust, greens, caramels, cinnamons, taupes…and a few low volume creams to create your own. We mostly mixed PORTOFINO with Lisa Bongean’s new PUMPKIN SPICE fabrics for a fantastic combination! More info and photos are on the blog [link in bio].
