12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS 2023: DAY THREE

ON THE THIRD DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME, THREE FRENCH HENS…

ITEM #1: CHRISTMAS APPLE ORCHARD QUILT KIT

This Christmas Apple Orchard version of our original 2-color harvest pattern, is at the top of my “love” patterns at the moment. I think it has the perfect blend of Christmas charm and vintage appeal, don’t you think?!

Shown above is the fabric combination we are using in the kit! Shown below is a similar version that inspired the kit.

PLEASE NOTE: The styled sample quilt and progress photos shown here are slightly different fabrics than our packaged 12 DAYS CHRISTMAS ORCHARD QUILT KIT, so pay attention to the fabrics shown in the kit listing, THE FLAT SHOT ABOVE (and shown separately, further down on this post) for what you will actually be getting!

Lacey whipped this beauty up and showed it to us earlier this year and we HAD TO make it a 12 DAYS kit, so we sourced a group of fabrics that we think would look beautiful together with this pattern, and resembled her gorgeous version.

OUR KIT VERSION OF THE CHRISTMAS ORCHARD QUILT KIT

The kit contains the pattern, plus all fabrics for the front, including: background, sashing, border, and binding as shown here below!

Finished quilt measures 51.5″ x 57.5″.

ITEM #2: ORNAMENT GARLAND – CANDY CANES & STARS

Creating a handmade Christmas, whether or not your kids are small, is one of my favorite things to do, and to be inspired by when I watch others decorate, too!

Each year, we try to make at least one kit that focuses on Christmas ornaments and this year we are working with candy canes and the cutest chunky stars ever! 

And better yet, you can make these into either a garland or a set of sweet ornaments or bowl fillers for some coffee table decorations.

TIP: If you are making the garland version, I recommend using safety pins to attach the ornaments to the string. That way, you can still remove them and use them in differing ways as you decorate each year!

Kit has 3 fabrics: (1) red stitchery fabric, (1) red stripe fabric and (1) cream print fabric to make the ornaments, templates and patterns, twine for stringing up the garland and both red & green Fig Tree ribbon for embellishing your goodies.

ITEM #3: VINTAGE SPOOL TIC-TAC-TOE GAME

We are back this year to feature the handmade wooden vintage gifts by our friend Jeff of Silver Birch Woodshop.

This unique Tic-Tac-Toe game uses playing pieces made from vintage wooden Coats & Clarks thread spool ends. The game board is cut from solid maple. A light coating of polyurethane protects the pieces and board. Hard wood dowels hold the spool ends in place as you play.

Sized small enough to travel (approximately 4-1/2 in. square and 1-1/2 in. high), it would still get attention on display on an end table, or a bookshelf.

Each set comes with nine pieces, and we cannot wait to use them this holiday season. I do believe a set will have a permanent spot on our holiday coffee table for guests to enjoy!

ITEM #4: CAVALLINI CHRISTMAS PUZZLE

You all know how much we love our vintage inspired CAVALLINI products and try to add at least some each and every year. Last year’s puzzle sold out in minutes, so we thought we would add another one this year. When I found this one with the 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS theme, I knew it was meant to be and how could I resist?!

Housed in a beautiful vintage-inspired canister, this 500-piece jigsaw puzzle from Cavallini makes a charming Christmas gift or holiday vacation activity. 

Cavallini has even packaged the lovely puzzle pieces in a muslin bag, which helps keeps all the pieces together and makes it simple to transport.

This is definitely a manageable holiday puzzle and I can’t wait for some family fun time this year to make ours! And a perfect way to slow down and enjoy the holiday with friends or family.

Puzzles are packaged in a 6.5 inch long cardboard tube, with puzzle pieces safely stored in a muslin bag inside. 

Puzzle is 500 pieces and finished puzzle measures 14″ by 22″ when assembled.
