My vintage bow ties quilt is back from its spa day

My vintage bow ties quilt is back from its spa day and I am in love! I think it is the perfect quilt to transition from summer to late summer and even early fall for me. I have to tell you that I am so glad I decided to jump in with you all for this #vintagebowtiesewalong last month (to celebrate the release of my Strawberry Garden book) and sewed just for fun! Many of you have asked about the fabric choices: and the best way I know of how to describe it is as a bit “mushy”… I stayed away from any highly contrasting fabrics and stayed in the middle tones of all warm colors. The backgrounds are as mixed as possible! The fabric groupings are a mix of JELLY & JAM, LINEN CUPBOARD, some FRUIT COCKTAIL, favorite green and yellow scraps and the addition of my upcoming PORTOFINO. It’s officially hot hot summertime around here… popsicles, watermelon and all the other goodies from the Sherbet & Creams book are on display at Casa Fig. There might even be a special little party for them on the porch bed swing this weekend and I promise to share! I was in love the moment Megan, one of our dear Fig Tree ladies, brought this in to the office for show and tell. We could not resist making up this “missile pop” version of our MINI POPSICLES pattern into a kit and share it with you. Every summer we make these mini popsicle kits and somehow I have never thought of this color version. 💙❤️🤍💙❤️💙🤍… You’re welcome 😂! But here is the real question… favorite childhood popsicle? Yesterday we spent most of the day as neighbor volunteers at a local U-Pick blueberry farm @duckworthfarmblueberries This was our payment! So now, I need serious blueberry ideas that are simple. Okay... so you might already know I have a thing with fruit blocks. Yes, it’s true. But did you know that I also have a thing with fruit stickers, fruit labels, fruit enamel pins, fruit notebooks? Well, that is also true 🙂 and I have rounded them all up and put them all on sale in the shop this week. I figured it is quintessential fruit time right now, right?
So if you would like to adorn your bags, your jackets or your bulletin boards with pins, your bottles or electronics or storage pins with stickers, would like to decorate gorgeous homemade jams and jellies, would like to play with a full yard of JELLY & JAM labels and jar toppers... come on over and join me in my fruit love!

It’s definitely time for the orange quilt to come out on the porch swing… followed closely by all the remaining fruits from the FRUIT SALAD QUILT BOOK! You know when you fall in love with a quilt patter

You know when you fall in love with a quilt pattern and then everyone also falls in love with it?? And you do a little happy dance!? it doesn’t often happen that my favorite in a long time seems to be everybody else’s as well. It just doesn’t lineup that way. But it did this time and I’m so happy about it. I can’t wait to work on this pattern with you guys next year when the PORTOFINO collection comes out. But for now I am VERY curious… which one is your favorite? The classic orange and black Black eyed Susan version or the multicolored flowers in a meadow version??
