PIECING INSTRUCTIONS:

Just as discussed in LAST WEEK’S BLOG POST, I do my flying geese units using the SEW & FLIP METHOD vs. the 4-at-a-time method depicted in steps 1 and 2 of the MODA-provided pattern for this week.

If you prefer the SEW & FLIP method, eliminate the cutting instructions for: [B], [C], [D], and [E]. Instead:

For a 6″ block, cut:

• (4) 1.5″ x 2.5″ rectangles [B]
• (8) 1.5″ squares [C]
• (4) 1.5 x 2.5″ rectangles [D]
• (8) 1.5″ squares [E]

For a 12″ block, cut:

• (4) 2.5″ x 4.5″ rectangles [B]
• (8) 2.5″ squares [C]
• (4) 2.5 x 4.5″ rectangles [D]
• (8) 2.5″ squares [E]
