During our FRUIT SALAD SEW ALONG back in 2023, Susan [@thefeltedpear] shared this fun project extra. It uses a singular APPLE block from Page 37 of the FRUIT SALAD BOOK, along with some fun flying geese or diamond block accents, which make for a super sweet make…and it’s great for scraps!

For Gift Week 2023, Susan also made a host of kitchen-related gifts, including these potholders that double as mug mats!
From Susan:
I wanted to make potholders that were a step above a single panel of fabric but would still be quick and allow me to use up scraps from making the placemats. I have a set of “pocket” potholders in my kitchen that I love, and I decided to try to replicate them for my friends.

Inspired by our TEA FOR TWO quilt pattern, I couldn’t resist adding a little tea mug mat for all of you tea lovers out there. This gets a lot of good use in my office as I sip my favorite tea every day!
Check out THIS BLOG POST for all the details on both the quilt and mug mat.

Tagging on the above TEA FOR ONE mat, I couldn’t help but see COCOA mugs, too! A few simple alterations to the block and voila… our dainty tea cups become cocoa mugs!
