On the 4th Day of Christmas

On the 4th Day of Christmas my true love sent to me, 3 Calling Birds. 

When I thought about calling birds, all I could think about was that I have 3 "Calling Birds" of my own, my own 3 little… or not so little… "Calling Birds" call me all the time. They call me to pick them up. They call me to drop them off. They call me to tell me that they are hungry. To tattle on each other. To complain that I am being unfair and that no one else's parents do it this way. They call throughout the house becuase they don't want to exert the effort to move and actually find me where I am. Did I mention that they call me when they are hungry… all the time? And the list continues but I think you get the picture. There is a lot of calling at Casa Fig! So we opted out of any more calling birds :-).

So since we've determined that I already have plenty of "calling birds", we decided to offer some of our STAR STRUCK quilt kits instead.

A woderful classic quilt, our brand new STAR STRUCK pattern has been done in several variations and this is my favorite color combination so far. An unexpected pop of warm black mixed with our favorite taupe floral, small print orange and coral solid and topped off with a bright apple green, makes this a fabulous vintage feeling color combo.

… I apologize for the pictures. I forgot to take them earlier and had to shoot the quilt early this morning with no light! Hope you can still see what you need to see!

 … This is definitely one of those patterns that is a joy to work on for those of us who llike a more intricate block once in a while, we did 1-2 blocka an evening to fully enjoy the process. The project comes together from a combination of triangles and squares and it is truly a joy to watch each and every block emerge!

AND FOR THE SPECIAL OFFER OF THE DAY:   Today we are going to do something a little bit different and donate $ to one of our favorite charities that operates right here in our home town of San Leandro!

The George Mark Children's House provides end of life and hospice care for children with terminal and life threatening diseases and their families. Read more about them here. In fact our Fig Tree sewing group along with some great friends at MODA, will be hosting a RED AND WHITE CHARITY QUILT SHOW in February to benefit the George Mark Children's House… much more on that later and how you might participate!

So depending on how quickly we sell out of today's goodies, Fig Tree will donate to the home through the RED & WHITE Quilt Show.

If we sell out by 8:30, we will donate $500.00

If we sell out by 9:30, we will donate $450.00

And so forth…

So even though we usually hope that the goodies last as long as possible and that as many people can get a chance to get what they are looking for throughout the day, today we are hoping for a super quick sell out to benefit the home! So shop away!
