PATTERN SHOWCASE: DOILIES

I have always enjoyed paper crafts as a little girl and making crafts with paper doilies was always a fun Valentine’s activity.

For this pattern, I tried to bring some of that doily craft feel to a simple 3 fabric quilt.

…and if you are a LITTLE BOX subscriber, SURPRISE! This is the featured pattern and fabric kit in this quarter’s box!

Even though it looks involved, this is one of those quilts that uses one simple block and where all the magic is in the setting of the blocks.

If you work methodically block by block and then row by row, you will soon build your own quilted doily!

Be sure to watch the direction of each of your hearts as you add them into your rows and watch your quilt grow right in front of your eyes!

The final transformation happens with the soft coral pink setting and of course the quilting!

MATERIALS LIST

As I mentioned previously, this quilt is a simple 3 fabric pattern to create your quilt top. You’ll need:

• HEART BLOCKS: 3/4 yd. red print [red thistle print, BUON NATALE]
• PINK SETTING: 3/4 yd. pink print [cantaloupe EYELET]
• BACKGROUND: 1 1/4 yds. ivory print [ivory + cherry EYELET]
• BACKING: 2 7/8 yds.
• BINDING: 1/2 yd. red print [strawberry EYELET]
