It’s week 3 of our Fig Friend Feature – this time, the DAISIES IN A ROW TABLERUNNER.
Finished Size: 22 1/2″ x 63″ – Pieced by Anna Dineen/Quilted by Gina Tell
Let’s learn a little about our STRAWBERRY GARDEN BOOK contributor…
I “met” Anna a long time ago on social media and we hit it off right away. She is full of quilty energy, is crafty in all kinds of things and has a sweet Texas drawl :-). She works for MODA fabrics these days so I get to see her more than ever before so that is a little added perk!
“I’d love to have you follow along with me at @mywanderingpath on Instagram! And I just want to thank Joanna and Fat Quarter Shop for letting me sew for Strawberry Garden. It was an honor and so much fun!”
1- Tell me your favorite quilt block and if there is a reason that is so.
I love the humble nine-patch, whether made in a checkerboard pattern or just all scrappy fabrics. It’s classic and versatile and perfect for strip piecing!
2- Tell me a bit about how you found quilting.
My grandmothers were talented craftswomen who could do anything that involved fabric, yarn, floss, and paint, so I learned so much from them. But it took me awhile to grow into quilting — for a long time, I didn’t have the patience to complete the prep work and master the precision required for quilting. One day, it finally clicked for me and I have never looked back!
3- Tell me your favorite Fig Tree color and a reason if there is one.
I love the Fig Tree rainbow! But blue is a favorite color of mine in general, so I am partial to Figgy blues: the indigo of Denim & Daisies, the cornflower blues of Fruit Cocktail, and the light minty blue of Catalina.
4- If you were to suddenly have unlimited time, could drop everything and make one of the quilts in the book from start to finish… which one would it be and why?
This book has so many great projects — how could I choose just one?!?
……
Stay tuned for next week’s FIG FRIEND FEATURE!
