Winter Solstice Sew Along: Week #2

Welcome Back Friends!

We are so glad you are here, and we are enjoying seeing all of the pictures of Sparkle Dash and Northern lights pop up in our Facebook Group and on Instagram.  Please be sure to tag your post #wintersolsticesewalong and #wintersolsticequilt to make sure we see it!

This week, we will be working on Milky Way and Starburst blocks.  I think both of these blocks go together relatively quickly – perfect for sewing for a few minutes while cookies are in the oven or while waiting for family celebrations to begin.

Directions for each block are written so you will cut new background strips for each block.  Feel free to use your scraps from previous blocks first before you cut additional strips.

We can’t wait to see you next week for two new blocks!

BLOCK #3: STARBURST

You will be making (2) of each block throughout the Sew Along. Cutting instructions account for both blocks each time.

Each block will be 8″ x 8″ finished/ 8 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ unfinished.

For this block you are once again making flying geese and adding in a checkerboard center.

BLOCK #4: MILKY WAY

… love the 4 little twinkling stars together.

And all your blocks so far…

I love the winter solstice blocks. Did the week #3 blocks get postponed a week?
