‘ALL THINGS LEAVES’ PATTERN ROUND-UP

Happy Fall, my friends. We thought it was time to do a round-up post of my autumnal quilts featuring LEAVES…all in one place! You might already know how much I LOVE AUTUMN and the colors, sights and sounds of this season. And leaves… well they are right there at the top of my list of favorite things about the season. Nothing quite like it!

So today we are exploring all of my leaf quilts and we are starting off with one of my all time best selling patterns…

TWIRL

Even though my daughter is now in college, this is still one of my favorite quilts and favorite set of photos… The original is done with an applique stem and I still love the movement that is created with that one special touch. It really is the best!

But if you really have to have a pieced stem… GO HERE for the alternate stem post for this original pattern and a few more photos I believe.

Below you can see it in made up in the SOMERSET collection for a slightly different look and then in all solids. It really is a very versatile quilt!

OFFICIAL PATTERN DESCRIPTION

If you follow along my quilting adventures, you might remember that autumn is my favorite season…by far. There is something about fall that is both a beginning and an end, it blooms with all of my favorite colors and the garden is ripe with bounty. This quilt is the best of what autumn means to me. It is a very simple block for any level of quilter that creates movement and the sensation of falling simply by turning it in various directions and offsetting the block rows a bit from one another. I love it when simple changes make such a great impact in a quilt. Perfect to use with a jelly roll or your bucket of scraps!

AUTUMN FROLIC BLOCK OF THE MONTH SAMPLER

Available as a stand alone pattern set…introducing AUTUMN FROLIC BLOCK OF THE MONTH SAMPLER PATTERN SET. As many of you know, each year we create and feature several exclusive block of the month programs for our loyal Fig Tree fans. After each program ends, we get hundreds of requests to make that year’s program into a pattern for those that missed it and usually we are just not able to do that for a million different reasons. But once in a while the stars align, I get a little window of time and inspiration and the pattern has the opportunity to come to life. This is one of those times!
