What a fun surprise it was to be this month’s cover girl in my favorite quilt magazine! What was even more fun was thinking through the first time that happened many, many years ago…and now I’m feeling a bit old! :-). Sometimes I forget how long I have worked in this amazing industry with so many amazing people over the years!
One of the great things that APQ is doing in the issues throughout this whole anniversary year is kind of like a retrospective with contributors from over the years. It is really such a great idea for everyone to look back and be collectively proud of the work we have done!
It was a really lovely walk down memory lane for me as I remembered all the past magazine contributions over the years.
If you want to read all about it and see all the other fabulous projects in the pages… go grab an issue of the magazine [I have seen them at quilt shops of course and also Michael’s, Joann’s, Safeway…!
This is the featured quilt I designed for the magazine this time around. I don’t often use black and especially not as a background and I just fell in love with how the dark background made the colors pop. And don’t even get me started on that beautiful quilting. Susan (@thefeltedpear) is in my band of favorite quillty ladies and always helps bring my quilts to life!
If you want to make one of your own, find your favorite warm black for the background and start collecting orange, grey, cream and black prints to coordinate!
And here’s a few more pictures I was able to take, as well…
Be sure to pick up your copy today and let me know what you think of the issue!

Really loved seeing this quilt in the magazine and walk down memory lane. I’m getting used to black as backgrounds too due in part to your charcoal weave you use.

This is a beautiful quilt. Alison one of my favorite quilt magazines. Can you tell me where I can find the quilt pattern? All I find is the medallion pattern.

I’ve been trying to download the no math sheet to make the table runner or the twin size-queen size option of the All Hallow’s Eve quilt. It was supposed to be available to download on AllPeopleQuilt.com/305. I was not able to find it, and when I tried to get help from the magazine, he told me he couldn’t find it either, suggested just to keep checking on the website from time to time. Can you help? Thank you, Pam

I have no info on how the magazine is doing that. You would have to rely on the info they have for you. Good luck.
