CHRISTMAS IN JULY: ‘NOTIONS TO GO’ TURNED ‘GIFT STATION’

This cute PATTERN REMIX comes to you from Lacey [@laceypoirier]. I just love when our Fig Tree gals use older patterns and find new, creative ways to use them. It totally makes me smile!

Be sure to read all the way through for the original NOTIONS TO GO project inspiration, as well as our new holiday GIFT STATION idea!

……

Work from your favorite charm pack or some cherished scraps to make the pocket.

SUSAN’S VERSION

Susan [@thefeltedpear] worked on her own NOTIONS TO GO version for our FACEBOOK GROUP ‘Gift Week’ back in 2021. She used assorted scraps from a Strawberry & Rhubarb + Fresh Fig Favorites layer cake and substituted twill tape for the ties.

She made hers for a young, new quilter and filled it with a set of extra tools from her sewing room and a few great notions. Isn’t she the sweetest?!

PATTERN REMIX: GIFT STATION

And now…the latest version! Our GIFT STATION is going to make wrapping presents both fun and stylish!

FROM LACEY:

I went to a quilt retreat back in April and as I was at the airport waiting to return home, I had some time to kill. You know the feeling you get after a retreat, right? The ideas are just SPILLING OVER! So I pulled out a notepad and started making a list of new projects I wanted to tackle.

Christmas is one of my favorite holidays to decorate and create for. With the arrival of Buon Natale, I specifically made a list of Christmas projects I wanted to make as soon as I could get my hands on it. The first project was an Advent Calendar [CLICK HERE FOR THAT FREE TUTORIAL], and this was the second!

Currently, I use an old shoe box to keep my gift wrap scissors, tape, ribbons, and cards in when Christmas time comes around. This is quite the upgrade if you ask me! 🙂

Grab your GIFT STATION and wrapping paper and you’re ready to roll!

The materials list is the same as the original NOTIONS TO GO, but I will tell you that I opted to use the Vintage Christmas Card panel yardage for the outside [versus a linen or neutral print with extra charm pack pieces]. It gives such a pretty look when it’s all rolled up!

Happy Sewing!
