SEW ALONG SCHEDULE

As always, you can sew at your own pace. We do better when we have goals set for each week, so we broke the quilt up into manageable sections. On each of the dates listed below, we will have a coordinating blog post outlining the task(s) for the week, hints/tips, photos, and motivation – so be sure you check back!

Be sure to join us over in our FACEBOOK GROUP, too, to see more sew along progress from all our Fig Tree Friends in a whole rainbow of color options too. We may even have a few giveaways planned! 😉

None of our sew alongs have an official “sign up”, although we do encourage you to sign up for our NEWSLETTER where we share the latest shop updates, sales, recent blog posts, and upcoming events – such as this one!

MOCKUPS: VARYING COLORWAYS

Our sew along officially kicks off on Monday, December 11th, with gathering materials and getting organized. We will ensure our blog post for the week includes lots of tips on how to pick fabrics, choosing a complementary accent print, etc. but in case you are eager to get started, take a look at these beauties!

Each new version we color is a new favorite. HOW DO WE CHOOSE?! Let us know your favorite in the comments below!

This is also a great project to go scrappy on. Feel free to dive into your stash and curate your own colorway! Just be sure you grab a copy of the February 2024 American Patchwork & Quilting magazine for the pattern.

You can pick up your copy at your local quilt shop, at major newsstands, or digitally from the American Patchwork & Quilting website. You can get your copy from them HERE, or just the article itself HERE , -OR- (hint, hint) you may want to look into an annual subscription when you consider the price of one issue – take a look at their site!

We’ll see you back here on the 18th for our SEW ALONG KICK-OFF!

I am sorry, but this sure is not time to do a sew a long!

As you can see, many people disagree with you and are very excited about this one. Sewing the week after Christmas and into January is actually my very favorite time to sew a new projects!
Feel free to pass if its not for you…

I am so excited. I purchased a Creative Grids Log Cabin ruler over the summer, and I have this magazine issue. I look forward to using my strip binds since I do not have to have mine cut a specified width. This ruler trims them perfectly after you sew a couple on.

Would a jelly roll work for this?

We recommend 2 1/2 yards of assorted green (or your choice of color) prints, 3/8 yard of your center accent, and 2 yards of background.
