MODA Blockheads: 48 and a bit of catch up too!

Welcome to Week #48 of the MODA BLOCKHEADS 3 SEW ALONG… Sorry that I have been a little MIA over the last few weeks. We just finished our huge annual 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS SALE and I had a few large design deadlines and all of my other “extra” projects fell to the wayside! But I’m back this week with Lisa’s gorgeous block…

THIS MONTH’S BLOCK

It’s Lisa’s day today and you know what that means… yup… half square triangles for days. Here is the PDF DOWNLOAD, CLICK HERE on Lisa’s blog. Go grab yours!

We chose a 12″ size for our version of this one and chose a whole variety of our favorite tones of reds- 4 reds, 2 cream prints and the ivory solid to be exact. It was a fun and beautiful block to watch evolve. Thanks for the beautiful block Lisa!

And since we missed posting for the last 2 weeks, and many of you have checked in to see what we did for those weeks, HERE IS THE INFO on what we did.

For the layout that we are doing, we are in need of several more 6″ blocks and not as much of the larger ones [if you scroll back through all of our BLOCKHEADS posts, you will see our layout]. So we have started going back to the Fig Tree blocks for the last couple of rounds and adding in 6″ versions of those blocks! They are almost identical [if not identical] “mini versions” of our 12″ choices for the previous two Fig Tree Days.

So for week #46, we did a 6″ block of our STARBURST block, Block #42. Other than the center, an exact mini version of the original. So cute!

For week #47 we did a 6″ version of our second round block BROKEN DISHES, Block #28 This one is a direct replica of the original one!!

CATCHING UP ON THE PROGRAM

For those of you who are following our layout exactly, we didn’t add the applique from a few weeks ago , but instead made a few more of the 4″ filler blocks that we needed. We made 5 of the little 4″ hearts and 5 of the little mini houses.

… we got to use a great little stack of our favorite prints

Hello Joanna, On the above page under the heading: catching up on the program, on the 2nd block on the left (the background is from your Chantilly collection) the fabric has a 4 petal flower on check/plaid white on red, there is also another house block, this time with a solid cream background house block on the left, 3rd from the bottom. Do you know whose fabric that is? I think it compliments your fabrics and I just love it! Thank you Joanna for any help you can give me,Cindy Karas.
