MODA Blockheads: Block #49

Welcome to Week #49 of the MODA BLOCKHEADS 3 SEW ALONG. I am happy to be “back on schedule” again this week and sewing along with you guys again. It is so hard when one of these sew alongs gets ahead of you, don’t you think?

THIS MONTH’S BLOCK

It’s Lissa’s day today and this block just hits the spot… get it? ha ha. Okay, so puns are clearly not my thing! Lissa has been one of my favorite humans on the planet for quite some time… at least 15 years? No, maybe 20? Geesh, that is not even possible and she has a great block with a REALLY GREAT story too.

Here is the PDF DOWNLOAD, CLICK HERE on Lissa’s blog to get the block and read her inspirations. Go grab yours!

We chose a 6″ size for our version of this one and chose a few non-Fig Tree reds to mix into our line up this time around. We thought Lissa’s awesome block was a perfect opportunity to work in a few fabrics that we hadn’t used a lot yet. Thanks for the fun block Lissa!

CATCHING UP

And since we missed posting for the last 2 weeks, and many of you have checked in to see what we did for those weeks, HERE IS THE INFO on what we did.

For the layout that we are doing, we are in need of several more 6″ blocks and not as much of the larger ones [if you scroll back through all of our BLOCKHEADS posts, you will see our layout]. So we have started going back to the Fig Tree blocks for the last couple of rounds and adding in 6″ versions of those blocks! They are almost identical [if not identical] “mini versions” of our 12″ choices for the previous two Fig Tree Days.

So for week #46, we did a 6″ block of our STARBURST block, Block #42. Other than the center, an exact mini version of the original. So cute!

For week #47 we did a 6″ version of our second round block BROKEN DISHES, Block #28 This one is a direct replica of the original one!!

CATCHING UP ON THE PROGRAM

For those of you who are following our layout exactly, we didn’t add the applique from a few weeks ago , but instead made a few more of the 4″ filler blocks that we needed. We made 5 of the little 4″ hearts and 5 of the little mini houses.

โ€ฆ we got to use a great little stack of our favorite prints
