HOLLY TREE SKIRT SEW ALONG

Pattern available via PAPER or PDF.

Here are a few progress photos from Susan [@thefeltedpear], plus a few tips from her:

Now is the time to assemble your tree skirt top.

  • Your first step is going to be sewing your leaves and berries into Blocks A-C.
  • After you have joined your Blocks A and B, take a break, have a cup of tea or coffee and read through pages 5-7 carefully before finishing the assembly. It’s not tricky sewing, but not as straight forward as the assembly of the Block A/B row.
  • Take the process slow and steady and consider pinning in the intersections that Joanna marked if you are not normally a pinner.

CHRISTMAS CARD MAKING

Be sure to visit THIS BLOG POST for a simple tutorial and materials list to create your own bundle of Christmas Cards this year!

A few tips from Joanna:

  • Sew slowly so you don’t distort your fabric image on the card. I elongated my stitch a little bit for ease and to not perforate the paper as much.
  • I experimented with decorative stitches on my machine to add a little detail…several of them look like snowflakes! Or you could also add a tiny bit of ribbon as a border.
  • I signed them as if they were little painted pieces of art for a little extra personalization.
