Have you jumped on this bandwagon yet?

Admittedly I didn’t get it at first. Who needs this many mug rugs? But now it is my favorite little project to make with a sample block, a miniature version of one of my bigger blocks or just an excuse to sew something quick and fun. I trade them out every few weeks and they bring me so much joy as I work. Perfect next to your computer or your sewing machine...wherever you spend more time. Or better yet, one at each work station!

At moment it is all about the CARROTS and the SHAMROCKS. Come grab the LUCKY SHAMROCK FREEBIE block on the blog or the CARROT SPROUTS block in the shop.

Make a mug rug, a mini topper, a runner or even a quilt. Scroll through the photo files in our Facebook Group to see so many different finishes of these.

Just a quick HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY to all of you

Just a quick HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY to all of you, my friends! Because today should really be about friendship instead don’t you think??

For those of you who are working on finishing up your #wintertimemagicrowbyrow projects this weekend… and if you, like many of us, just maaaayyyyy have made a few too many heart blocks because they were so fun to make… well here you go.

I decided to keep making them in soft low volume ivory prints and blush pinks from my stash. This is the result.

Add a 1 ½” finished border around each heart and tada! Oh and on the second slide… 4 leftover blocks from the new DOILIES pattern turned into a mug rug.

Honestly, super honestly, you could start and finish both of these projects this weekend. Just saying. Come on over to our Facebook Group for a little video!

Welcome back to the last week of our WINTERTIME ROW BY ROW!

Its time to finish our lovelies!
This SEW ALONG has been such a wonderful way to spend the last few weeks sewing with you all!

I have always enjoyed paper crafts as a little gir

I have always enjoyed paper crafts as a little girl [who am I kidding, I still love them today] and making crafts with paper doilies was always a fun Valentine’s activity.
Do you all remember those?

For this pattern, I tried to bring some of that doily craft feel to a simple 3 fabric quilt.

Even though it looks involved, this is one of those quilts that uses one very simple block and the magic is all in the setting of the blocks. If you work row by row, you will soon build your own quilted doily before you even know it.

Here we are back again and its Week #4 of our WINTERTIME MAGIC ROW BY ROW SEW ALONG!

I can’t believe that we are in our final block week and next week is assembly!

Today I am posting a pretty picture of a vintage quilt that I got for Christmas.
Isn’t it incredible? It makes me really happy when I look at it.
All that work and beauty made by hand by someone long ago.
But it kind of feels hollow in the midst of everything, doesn’t it?

I have not been on social media much lately.
It makes me cry to see a lot of what I am seeing.
Doom scrolling, as the younger generation calls it, is bad for my soul.

I am an immigrant and became a citizen at 18 years old.
My parents were both immigrants.
My father in law who just recently passed away was an immigrant who also came at 18 to go to school.

I stand with my neighbors whoever they might be. The love of neighbor that I have seen has kept me hopeful for all of us.
I am for kindness and compassion and basic human rights. Truly I think most of us are.

I hope & pray that everyone is taking care of themselves and their neighbors.
We are meant to take care of one another ❤️.

I am not opening comments for my mental well being.

Today is already Week #3 and I am “happy” to share with you the HAPPY HOLLY block for our third row!

It was one of the main motifs on my sweater inspiration and a really fun block for me to reimagine for this sew along.
It will make a great row in our final project!
