GOOSE & FLOWER GARLAND…

We recently attended H&H in Chicago and as a part of our LARKSPUR & LINEN booth display, I made this sweet little goose garland to decorate the walls.

I got SO MANY requests for a tutorial about this garland that I couldn’t resist working up a super simple HOW TO for you guys.

This is definitely a simple process since the geese are not turned right side out (RSO), not looped in any way, and basically made in a fairly “rustic manner” for a quick fun decoration.

I used some of my yummy LARKSPUR linens but you could easily make up a set using cotton prints, as well. For a full supply list and tutorial, head to the FRESH FIGS BLOG!

GARDEN GATE…

This is one of those patterns that we seem to come back to again and again. Originally created for the Chantilly collection a while back, we have revisited this fabulous pattern several times with different groups. Now it’s the LARKSPUR & LINEN fabric collection’s time to shine!

This pattern is a such a perfect occasion to showcase a collection with lots of favorite larger scale prints that you just can’t bear to cut up…or really any favorite group where you really want to feature the fabrics themselves in those large center squares.

Choose a favorite solid as an accent background and you are good to go! Perfect to work on from a Layer Cake or as you will see on the last page of the pattern, in a smaller version, with a pair of your favorite charm packs!

LARKSPUR STARS…

Calling all JELLY ROLL lovers out there!

Working with a single jelly roll to create this LONE STAR variation was honestly so much more fun than I ever imagined. Let me tell you why!

I think it is the perfect blend of strip pieced blocks and with the addition of the solid star points, the blocks go together so much easier and faster than expected.

You have so many less seams to match than in a traditional Lone Star and it makes all the difference! It’s truly so lovely to put together.

Pattern has no “y” seams and uses my signature diamond strip set method… I think you might love it if you haven’t tried it before.

COUNTRYSIDE COTTAGES… I have to tell you that it

COUNTRYSIDE COTTAGES…

I have to tell you that it is definitely a dream of mine to live in the Cotswolds, an area of southwest England, one day. But in case that day never comes, I love to create quilts that make me feel like I do when I am there!

These cottages are literal representations of what Cotswolds cottages look like. As you drive around the charming countryside villages, just imagine yourself living in one of these little beauties.

SHEEP & CLOVER… Imagine sheep grazing on rolling

SHEEP & CLOVER…

Imagine sheep grazing on rolling green hills, dotted with clumps of clover. I know it sounds like something out of a storybook.

Believe it or not, I walked on a Cotswolds public path just like this one & SHEEP & CLOVER was born in my head on that very walk!

Pattern is made with my favorite SEW & FLIP method so no specialty rulers or techniques involved. Each sweet little block feels like its own little sheep quilt!

LINEN. Oh My Gosh...

Do I really need to say anything more?
It’s amazing you guys. 12 different ones, each one better than the one before it.

I have done many different substrates over the years of designing fabric for MODA.
I have done wovens, flannels, toweling, corduroys, seersuckers. But somehow never linens!

And I have to tell you… I am totally obsessed.
First I wash them. And watch them crinkle and soften.
Then I start making all the things… so far quilted duvet covers, pillows, tote bags, pouches.
I used my favorite Aurifil threads for all of it.

Next up… summer scarves! I will 100% share as I go.

I CANNOT wait to show you all the things. I will have tutorials on how to use it on the blog and we will work on this together next year when the fabric arrives.
