Let’s Share.

In situations like these, sometimes I feel that I want to get a bit "speachy". I want to talk about how much we have and how much others are in need. I want to talk about the specifics of the great need in Haiti. I want to be convincing and emotional and I want to affect change. But as I was thinking about what I wanted to say to motivate you, I thought that the words my daughter said this afternoon were really more than adequate right now….

Let's Share.

To do that , we have partnered with the good folks over at The Fat Quarter Shop to work with them on their wonderful idea of an Auction for Haiti. Thank you so much ladies!

We thought we would match their initial donation of $1000 and we have donated this quilt here below, Dandelion Wishes to the auction. When we thought about which quilt would be appropriate, we thought it needed to be something special. It needed to be something that meant something to us.

This quilt was the featured project for our first big magazine profile. Back in April 2008, the wonderful folks at American Patchwork & Quilting did an amazing  profile of our business. We were honored and glad to work with them then & are now so happy to see the quilt earn money for this need. Appropriate, don't you think?
As soon as we decided to use this quilt for the auction, we knew that somehow they would want to be involved. So we got in touch and American Patchwork & Quilting will be advertising this auction on their website and other social media networks in the upcoming days in order to increase the visibility and hopefully the final donation amounts on a lot of the quilts donated! Thank you so much ladies!

In the meantime, many generous folks have added some of their wonderful work to the cause. It seems that our fabrics and patterns are popular among the auction choices so we thought we would share a few of them with you here in case you were interested in bidding on one of these goodies…

joanna, your sentiments are so right on. the quilt you donated to the auction is beautiful and there’s something really selfless about giving away something that you really care about. it’s like there’s love given away with it (and hopefully a chain-reaction of goodness to follow). i admire your initiative and hope the situation in Haiti improves over time and with incremental help from people like you! xox k (stepping down from the soapbox)

Funny thing, I pulled out some older magazines this morning and found the exact article/quilt you mentioned in this post….that’s why I’m here and how I found your website.(through the American Patchwork & Quilting magazine) I am drawn to your style and colours you use….so me!! I’m going to have fun visiting your blog and website this afternoon. Thanks for all you do! Blessings Heather
