When we create patterns and go to Market twice a year, we never know which new ideas will really strike our customer's fancy, so to speak. Its a hard thing to predict! Well, this one certainly did and was easily the pattern we sold out of the quickest.
Introducing our Raindrops cape pattern in two variations.
This one is made out of waterproof laminate and is perfect for a rainy walk in the neighborhood. The thicker laminate gives it a bit more structure and body but given that the pieces are large, it is still real simple to work with.
Simply by adding a nice wide binding on the hood and a single button, you can give the cape a bit of an accent.
The second version shows the cape made more as a poncho. Same general construction, just a slit in the front instead of a full cut. This version is made out of pre-quilted fabric for a quick project. You could of course quilt your own as well and use whatever is your favorite fabric.
This one is soft and cuddly and perfect for any dry fall or winter day. It is created for kids but we have had adults fall in love with them already. For adults, they are more of a bolero style poncho!
We also just finished up this size 3 toddler cape… lets just say that I want to be 3 today!
