PATTERN ROUND-UP: ALL THINGS ‘ACORN’

Happy start to Fall, my friends. We thought it was time to do a round-up post of my autumnal quilts featuring ACORNS…all in one place! You might already know how much I LOVE AUTUMN and the colors, sights and sounds of this season.

Last year around this same time, we published a blog post titled ALL THINGS ‘LEAVES’ – check that blog post out HERE. This year, we are switching gears and featuring ACORNS.

Sometimes its a creative twist on a simple and straight forward block that makes me the happiest. That was definitely the case with this unique acorn block. A little turn, a fun stem and we have something perfect for fall for any traditional or modern home!

This cute ACORN GARLAND AND COASTER SET pattern was something I created for Moda Fabrics to accompany my CINNAMON & CREAM fabric collection. I know so many of you all made them the year we released the fabrics but the acorns can be made with any grouping of autumnal fabrics!

ACORN WOODS

A walk in the woods on a crisp autumn afternoon… what does it make you think of?

For me, its definitely picking up acorns and hearing the crunch of the leaves! With this simple patchwork throw, that can be done with 2 autumnal-feeling charm packs, we get instant visions of those ACORN WOODS. And of course, as always, I love how our easy SEW & FLIP method makes these complicated-looking acorns and leaves a breeze to sew. AGATHA’S OAKS

This time I wanted something a bit more sophisticated and timeless that would be a part of my late harvest & soft autumn vibe in the house. In my opinion, this works starting in early August all the way through Thanksgiving and is the perfect backdrop to any autumnal decorating.
